I'd render it like the first one, and then do some sharpening of the image in Photoshop, if needed. Postwork saves a lot of time, especially when you need your computer to do other things. If the computer has no other use, then that's another thing.

Not long ago I purchased a Polaroid Land Camera 215 on eBay. I believe it was manufactured around 1968 (?) or therabouts. Yes, I've been trying it out, and playing around with it. It takes surprisingly good shot. My digital is still my favorite camera, though. :c)

My grandmother was diagnosed with this Macular Degeneration, though she never went totally blind even when she died at 87. I understand it is caused by a lifetime of wearing glasses. See http://www.myopia.org/ for more information. If this is true, then I'm doomed too. I'm 54 and still no symptoms, yet. My aunt also has this and is nearly blind. Both women wore glasses all their lives. I say find an eye doctor that isn't afraid to treat it...go down fighting, as they say. Our sight is too terriby important to lose, especially for artists. However, it's not the end of the world, either. I told my aunt there is always music to listen to, and things like that. If it happens to me, I'll be listening to Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, etc., a LOT more. Best wishes to you!

So sorry to hear about your kitty, with the sweet and innocent face! We lost two pets last year, one in August, and one in September. Our dog, Pepper, a terrier mixed, passed away in the backyard while we were out shopping. That made me feel horrid we were not here for her. She was about 15 years old, not sure because she was a pound rescue. Then 32 days later, our beloved cream Persian had to be put down because he could hardly breathe from the lung cancer he had - and we didn't know it! (No one in our house smokes, but our sons brought it in on their clothing). He was 13 1/2 years old...would have been 14 in October. I do feel for your children who witnessed this. I remember seeing a neighbor's dog get hit as a child, and my own little kitten too. It does hurt for a very long time like that.

I've done this once or twice, but not on such a long render as that. Just give me enough time... :c) and I will!

So then it is a digitally altered photograph. I'd say it's still a photo, but that's my opinion. :c)

The only thing I know of is to keep the frame sizes small. You can make the animation in a larger size, and then diminish the size of them just before rendering. Even small animations take a long time.
