A lot of renders in the Gallery are with 2014. I guess you are the one to decide if they are photo realistic enough.
You say that with your OSX upgrades that your Poser just doesn't work anymore? What Poser version doesn't work anymore? And "trying to get Poser to do something close.." ? Not sure what that means?
Does Poser work at all for you? Some folk here say that Poser11 is better. Others don't. I'd check the messages and look at the Galleries.
Thread: Do I need a 2nd license to have Poser on my laptop and desktop? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Sounds like a forum moderator is stalling on this. Might be against a rule or two? Watch this space?
Thread: Speeding up Animation | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Want faster rendering? A faster computer than the one you currently have? Try for more efficient model/object/ background poly size. Use less "eye candy" than YOU think is "right." Get a faster computer. Don't worry about it. What's an extra hour? Once it's all done and looking fine...you won't remember the L-O-N-G wait!
Etc etc etc.

Beautiful ! I guess with lots of trans maps etc, there might be a slow down on even the fastest rig. What have you got a-runnin' there computer wise?. Even if the time taken is very long, the outcome has been worth every second so far.

How long is "a long time?" How large are the files? Your computer specs are..? CPU Ram etc..? Maybe a new, faster computer might be your only hope? Good luck with it..
Thread: Create a 360 View in Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Surely this should be relegated to the New Poser thread. Certainly not the info. to be gushing about? Very basic stuff and nothing that new. If Poser users don't know about this simple stuff then we are in big trouble. But for the very beginner...who doesn't like manuals... it might be of some value?
I agree also about the Keyframe setup. It is not explained well enough and involved too much unnecessary work.
Thread: Is Poser development dead? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Posers inability to provide a VR experience shows it's "old fashioned" upbringing Most savvy folk are now using the Oculus or the HTC or Windows reality to model and to work in 3D. A search of the WWW will show many VR programs that have surfaced just lately and are extremely popular and state of the art.
Is it the lack of interest from Poser users in this new technology perhaps has discouraged Smith or Poser from developing a VR capable Poser? Sadly Poser is now almost seen as an ancient relic from the past when it should have been at the forefront of new developments and especially virtual reality.
But I am too busy having fun and joy with the grand daughter to worry that much about it...But it is sad to see Poser disappearing into yesterday.
Thread: Poser 11.1 is Coming Monday | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just a warning... While the upgrade price for Poser 11 or 11.1 seems a bargain at AUS $65 (Physical)...The shipping price for the DVD is an astronomical $40 Australian !! So in the end one will not be saving as much as one thinks !! Wowie...I wonder what sort of vehicle they are using to "ship" a couple of DVD's to Australia ??? What a gigantic ripoff. I think one would absolutely require the physical copy as the files are so huge and the internet very slow !! But at $40 shipping..Let the buyer beware.
Thread: Blackstone haunted castle ~ Happy Halloween | Forum: Animation
Lots of dedication there and it does show. Marvelous. Maybe, just maybe... the hand held candle/light should emit a bit more to surroundings? Thanks for sharing.
Thread: Loading saved face expressions without changing character face morph | Forum: New Poser Users Help
I am a-guessing that you have created an expression by the usual way of manipulating the controls to get your desired result? And then you have saved this into the Poser Expression Library? Umm...Now when you load in your own expression from the Lib. you get what? Do you get the expression along with all the public variables that are part of Vic4.2 character? ..And what you want is just your expression without...shall we say... all of those variable dials? Is that it?
Are you using morphs++ or any other added controls? Or just Vic4.2 as is?
Sorry to be so long winded, but it's best to make sure of things..I guess. :) Hopefully I'm not getting confused.
Thread: Loading saved face expressions without changing character face morph | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Bit confusing this one? What do you want to do? Change "expressions" with no morphing ? "Cannot find any options where I cannot dismiss..." Or should that be "..........where I can dismiss? Maybe a bit clearer explanation?
Thread: How do you use animation layers | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Presuming you have read the Poser Reference Manual on Animation Layers...What part of this are you having difficulties with?
Thread: Welcome! | Forum: The Break Room
Staying within the TOS might be difficult :)
I mean: We mustn't provoke a negative response. Speak about political views in a negative manner. Disturb the peace. And no stating of "destructive" commentary. (whatever that means?)
Oh deary me. And folk wonder why these types of Forums fade away? Even what I have written here is very close to the edge. Maybe a better explanation of the rules?
Thread: Studio into Poser — just throwing an idea out there | Forum: The Break Room
Hi Sean, Brilliant idea ! Lots of DAZ stuff that Poser folk would like. I think that's what you're getting at? At the moment there is no way to convert. One see's the odd utility to do this but nothing actually works properly as the Forums will show. It's a good point, Sean.
Thread: Easy way to put hair/fur on a primitive ball? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Go to the Hair room. Select the polys you want hair on. Adjust the settings as explained in the user manual. Couldn't be simpler !! Oh yes, and sorry about this but...The instructions are there...Read the Manual. It explains it all. If there's anything in the manual you don't understand then write further. But please try the old "RTFM" first. You'll learn a lot better that way.
