I'm still subscribed to it, Bob... I see all the stuffs... :P I just have been so busy caring for my mother that I'm numb and unmotivated to be artful. I end up playing games instead, because they take me out of reality better right now. Alzheimer's is such an ugly disease to watch someone go through.
I like looking at your work here though :D Keep posting it!

Wow, Charley, thank you so much for your generous gifts! I used both types in this render.. I haven't done much lately, but I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out...

Quote - That is very nice!
Did you change your Nickname, or maybe a different one at DAZ :)
Thanks Doc :) I'm not willing to pay a 10 dollar fee to change my username to Zethara here. Turtlefemm is my nickname in pretty much everything else but art related sites, but I have purchase history here so didn't want to create a different account just to get my name changed. It's a minor annoyance...

@Surreal3D I'll try that next time it happens.. :D
@59Burst Thanks! I debated on the exposure and decided that I liked the way it looked... The whole scene is 3D... I can't remember where I got the car; I've had it for years I think...

Quote - Nice render are your problems due to attempting to use win 8?
No.. I don't have Win 8... I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. I just know that sometimes after I've set up a scene I click to call reality and it doesn't load... Sometimes it will go as far as to change to the material settings pane, sometimes it doesn't even do that... I have uninstalled Daz Studio, reinstalled.. uninstalled reality, reinstalled.. latest versions of both... although I think I am behind a version now.. it came out after my problems had already started. I check the log files and generally there is nothing to do with reality at all in them... or there is but no sign of errors... I have had some success with cleaning out files with ccleaner and rebooting. The processes in the task manager do always show a second instance of daz studio running when I have attempted to call reality... I've done tests with a simple sphere and one light when I've had the problem and it still won't work.. So its pretty much a crap shoot whether I'm going to be able to call reality or not. I'm not willing to reformat my hard drive, so I'm sort of at a loss.... and reaquainting myself with Bryce somewhat when I feel any creativity coming on.

I've been having some technical issues using reality, likely a war between my OS and daz studio... but managed to get reality to show up so that I could try out Hiro 5.. No postwork... except for the signature. :D

Finally after uninstalling yet again, running ccleaner, rebooting, redownloading the update, it is the correct version... I have no idea what happened even now, since that was the only version present anywhere, but at least its working now. Thanks Paolo.

After reading your response, I uninstalled again.. (When I first downloaded the upgrade, I did attempt to install it without uninstalling anything, I forgot to say that in the first post) After uninstalling, I opened DS 4.5 and checked for reality... not there.. because I uninstalled it. Then I just installed the new update again and opened DS 4.5 and reality was there, so I opened a sample scene and the splash screen has the previous version again... I don't know what I'm missing, but it must be installing to the right location, since it wasn't in the render tab until I reinstalled. As I'm typing, I installed the updated reality into a test folder as well to check against what is installed in the studio folder and it is identical. This is really baffling me...

I downloaded the update for reality 2.5 for win64, uninstalled the previous one, and installed the new, but the about screen still says that my version is still 2.5.0.112. I uninstalled/reinstalled again and it didn't change.
The zip file I received ,downloaded and installed is called Reality_2.5.1.104_DS4_W-64 so I'm not sure whether I've got the newer version and the about screen is wrong or somehow the older version got zipped up as the newer.

Quote - Hello all.
I need to ask you a favor, if you can spare a couple of minutes.
There is a poster at RDNA who is claiming that you have been duped by me in believing that Reality is a renderer. I told him that this is not the case. First of all you are smarter than that, second, I never claimed that Reality renders. If you have a chance to go to this thread:
http://forum.runtimedna.com/showthread.php?72169-Reality-3-Miki-4-Tyler-Sneak-Peek-at-SIGGRAPH-2012/page2
and let "tylerzambory" know that you are not that easily fooled and that you know very well that LuxRender is doing the rendering I believe that it would help in letting people know the truth of the matter.
Thanks in advance.
I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's illness, but so glad for you both that she is recovering well.
I went to the thread at RDNA and posted my 2 cents worth... It is really disheartening how people come up with stories that are untrue and can potentially damage good people like yourself... It boggles my mind.. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who actually thought reality was a render engine, or felt misled in any way about it.

Hey all.. if any of you are wanting to read stuff from the old daz forums, here's a link to where they are now.. No members forum at the moment, just the others... Read-only:
http://forumarchive.daz3d.com
Daz posted on facebook telling us to be patient and I found that link in one of the comments.
Edit: Doesn't seem to come through as an actual link, but easy enough to copy/paste into the browser.
