I'm looking for a more flexible model than the old one.  Something that can look neat as well as messy.  The old model was a great start, but beyond that it's just too static. Â
Thread: Looking for old P4 fix | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL yeah, I'm afraid P4 is so long ago for most folks that few will remember it's particular quirks. Â Thought it would be worth asking, though. Â Shows how long it's been since I've been to good ol' Renderosity (haha)
The problem isn't with a pose function. Â It's with the save. Â Somehow, when a scene is "opened", the figure's pose information is gone. Â Very strange. Â Oh well. Â Guess I'll have to pull out the newer version and play around with it. Â Just hate having to move all those Runtime folders over... (bah!).

Mac forum? Okay, I'm blind... I didn't see anything for Mac in the forum list....Â

Thanks, mamba-negra! Â
Hm... I never worked with injection stuff even though a couple of items I purchased had it available. Injection tech was relatively new when I last purchased Poser content. I can see there will be tons of stuff to learn if I pick up P7.
Miss Nancy, if I purchase P7, it will be the Mac version and I have gigs of .zips and .exes that will need to be re-installed... I won't need maconverter for that at all? Could you elaborate on the OS9 comment, because I'm a clueless newby and am unfamiliar with OS9.
Thanks for the comments!
Thread: Turning old P4 MAT files into P6 files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I couldn't get the shift thing to work, but changing the file extensions to .MC6 seemed to work.
Thank you for the great advice. Things are running much smoother now.
P.S. - Is the only difference between MT5 and MC6 the version of Poser? Or is it something more?
Thread: P6 crashes after loading P4 Runtime? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep. I moved the entire Runtime to the C: drive, deleted P6, then reinstalled with the SR3. Following Phil's instructions, I'm now able to pull up all of my files.
Thanks again for the help.
Now... has anyone invented an AA / 12 step program for Poser? Something tells me I'm going to need it again.

I feel like I'm jumping into the middle of a conversation because I missed the previous posts, but... Why not use the reduced resolution Vicky3?

We had some lovely snow here, but it's all melted now. (sigh) The sun is just too efficient sometimes. Does anyone have a model of a snow shovel by any chance?
Thread: How do you sort your poser stuff? | Forum: Poser Technical
(laugh) Ah! The eternal question we all deal with after getting hooked!
I've tried several different strategies to sorting my "stuff". One of the best I've found is to determine what your image needs are a majority of the time & base folder structure on that.
For example: I use V2 & M2 almost exclusively for now and separated all the 2nd generation figures into one character folder called "DAZ figures". This folder has the characters listed in precidence of use: 00 Mike LoRes, 00 Vic LoRes, 01 Preteen, 01 Preschool, 02 Mike HiRes, 02 Vic HiRes, etc...
Because keeping the clothes for each in one file would be OMG large, I've had to separate them out into several different files: Clothes - Mike Past, Clothes - Mike Present, Clothes - Mike Future, etc...
Note that by keeping a subject title consistent, I'm also able to keep those files clumped together in the character list and make it easy to find just the right piece of clothing based on the image's subject and time period.
I've done the same thing to my props folder by clumping all the environmental props together: ENV - Land shapes, ENV - Trees, ENV - Bldgs 01 Past, ENV - Bldgs 02 Present, ENV - Bldgs 03 Future.
This type of naming convention has saved me a tremendous amount of time when working with P4 because I can pull sections out I don't need and put them into a temporary Runtime folder when I'm on a theme kick. This removes clutter of the gazillion other files in the main Runtime and is easy to move stuff back whenever I need them.
There is a program out there that helps with this (PBoost, I think), but that took too much of my limited processing resources so I just revert to the traditional drag & drop method in the Explore directory.
Whew! This was long winded, but I really hope it helps!

Thread: Modelling a face from photo? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry for the long delay in replying, I just returned from a LOOOOnnng holiday trip (14 hrs in a compact car with no cruise control). To shape the face, I used the basic morphs that are available in the Mike2 model. I will have to customize some morphs for the eyebrows, though in Anim8or. Whew! Now off to peruse 174 e-mails waiting in my "In box" now that I'm finally home!
