"if I spend $20 from the listing linked to [above]" is pretty clear to me -- i.e. $20 from the three vendors mentioned. And I think it's safe to say that if it shows up in the RPublishing store then it qualifies. Use the link I pasted in above and then search for the item in just that store. I'm going to calculate how much I spend on the three vendors by hand (i.e. factoring in the coupon code I plan to use) ahead of time to make sure I hit the $20 mark.

What concerns me the most is if it will show up in my list of purchased products, and it sounds like it won't. Anyone know for sure?

Wow, great summary. You left out that initially some prime prices were higher than sale prices. Not sure if that was a bug, vendor silliness, etc.

Does Reality work with DAZ Studio 4.6? According to the announcement, DS 4.5 plugins should work, but I was wondering if anyone has verfied that? Thanks!

I'm the opposite with the DIM. I have a ton of content I purchased but never downloaded (I used to use a tool to automate the installation, but the DAZ installers broke that back in March 2011 IIRC). And I knew the DIM was in the works, matybe close to a year ago (back when I was still active in the forums and I was a Megento Ninja). So I was still buying stuff but would only download a small handlful of items (i.e. ones I was immediatly interested in using). So thanks to DIM, I finally have access to all of my purchases. As a side note, I was also buying a lot here at RMP, where I could easily install stuff. And yes, I know I spend too much on this hobby!! ;)

Do you still work for DAZ? I know you are trying to be fair to Luxus, but I was comparing renders using default settings from the two and Reality comes out ahead. Maybe Luxus will get a boost when that companion product Elixer comes out, but my impression is that Paolo has a better grasp of the artistic side of things.

Does it not work with Reality somehow, or are you just having problems with it in general?  I was contemplating picking it up, in case it goes on MM sale.

It'just complains about the V4 clone shape being missing or soemthing like and I Have not had a chance to really troubleshoot it yet. It should work fine with Reality as it it is just transferring morphs. I would defintely get it if it goes on sale during MM (make sure you pick up the V4 and M4 shapes, or the gen3 shapes as well if you do not already have them). Dang, V3 using Geneis! I can redo some scenes from 2004! :)

Been a while since I posted something, so here are two from my dA galleries. Very little postwork for the witch (some brightness/contrast IIRC). For the Valkyrie I rendered it twice, once with the sword as a metal and once with it as a light source, and merged the two (also, I did not have enough time to render both to a decent S/px, so that is why there is still some noise visible). Yeah, I finally upgraded to DS 4.5 two weekends ago, now that I have all of my Genesis purchases installed thanks to the DAZ Install Manager. Now if I could just get GenX to work....

Picked up Luxus today given the cheap price during MM. But I have to say the default render settings are very, very different. I took a Reality scene I had that pretty much had no adjustments made to it, thew a spotlight in, and started rednering it with both. Luxus was very flat, while Reality had way too much glossiness like usual. Luxus was rendering slower, and the "noise" had a horizonatal bias to it. Reality was rendering to a usable state much faster. Interesting first release for Luxus, but it isn't there yet.

I was thinking the screenshots were so weak because Spheric Labs was scrambling to hit a release deadline. That's the only reason I can think of for such grainy renders.

I have to say, being able to make adjustments to materials within DAZ Studio could be nice since at least that can be scripted. I would really like the ability to subtract X -- say 2000 - from selected materials and the ability to download ACSEL shaders outside of the plugin, so some competition could be nice. Though I'm not sure how much Paolo needs to be worried right now based on those screenshots.

Well, mainly use Reality, gen4 figures (mainly V4 and M4), and I think dfromers and smoothing are the most advanced features I have used. Given that, is there a hige beneift to upgrading?
