It was created and once the issue was corrected I notified the Renderosity folks who'd been emailing me

Thread: Not sure if this subject is in the correct forum.... | Forum: 3D Modeling
I'm trying to learn Blender but for all I can figure out I might as well be trying to fly a space shuttle as complicated as the interface is. I have "Blender for Dummies" and I don't know what version of Blender it's made for but the GUI is a lot different than the version I have on my PC. I do all my modeling in Wings 3D which does have some UV mapping capabilities, but they're a bit underpowered for my needs and the limited tutorials out there are hard to follow.
I'm slowly learning Ultimate Unwrap 3D and it's not very intuitive and it's..... clunky from what I can tell, with what seems to be a lot of extra button pressing and redundant commands. I'm just looking for some help in understanding the interface and how to make some things work, viewable and so forth. It's a process for sure

Thread: Texture mapping for Poser | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Primorge, about year ago I found some tutorials regarding mapping in Wings. At first I thought this was the absolute solution! But I tried following them, and there were quite a few issues.... things like the map not saving correctly, or I'd make numerous changes and then when trying to save Wings would crash or the changes just wouldn't save. It was very frustrating. However, based on your endorsement and using the link you provided, I'm willing to have another go at it. I'll let you know what happens -
Steve

DivabugDesigns I sure wish that Steve Cox over at the UV Mapper website would still support UV Mapper Pro. I used that program for years and was used to it, liked it and found it not too difficult to use. He seems to have fallen off the map, not having updated the website for the last several years and no longer responding to any requests of any kind.
About two years ago, I suffered a hard drive crash. I was a user of UV Mapper Pro at the time and when I had to replace my hard drive, I lost some info, including the registration key for my copy of the program. So after I reloaded it onto my new hard drive I found myself using a trial version which wouldn't allow me to save or export any maps I created. After numerous unanswered e-mails to Mr Cox, I tried several hacks people suggested to try recovering the registration key from my damaged hard drive, all without success. So I was forced to switch gears and find a new mapping program. After reading reviews, I settled on Ultimate Unwrap and struggled with it from day one. I find it to be cumbersome, not very intuitive and not at all easy to use.
So here I am....a part time 3D hobbyist who is stuck in the past, happy to use older software when available (happy with poser 11, Wings 3D, Paint Shop Pro version 6, and until all this, UV Mapper Pro). I don't have time to learn new software and apps. I work full time, I recently moved across the country and my wife and I have a 9 month old baby, plus we just found out we have another on the way. So time for this old dog to learn new tricks, is in very short supply.
I'd give almost anything to have UV Mapper functioning for me again.
Steve

Seems like the ticket is learning to use Blender. But geez...... there's a million buttons, toggles, interfaces. I get so overwhelmed just looking at the home screen I have no idea where to begin! My modeling program of choice is Wings. Has been for years. I keep saying I need to learn Blender but I don't even know how to start

Thread: connecting files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I dug around in the contents of an old external hard drive and found a copy of.cr2 Editor. I placed of copy of my .OBJ file in the geometries folder, edited the figureResFile to point to it and now all is right with the world :)
I'd forgotten that I can do rotation limits, etc right in Poser, and I've already done them in Notepad++. But this is good info for next time. Thanks everyone!

I have Notepad++ and I used it to set up rotation limits and such on my model. I'm slogging through the .cr2 file with it now, to find the notations I need to edit

Thank you all so much. I have it rigged properly now and it works great. I think what really threw me off is that changing the orientation of the origin is done the way that it is in your examples. I could swear that in an earlier version of Poser, the joint editor window had xrot, yrot and zrot erc dials to adjust the orientation of the origin.
It never seemed like it was this difficult before. Thanks again for being part of such a robust and helpful community

Thanks everyone for the responses.... I don't know why this is now so @#$%$# difficult. Last year when I made The Devil's Chariot (for sale in my vendor space) it wasn't this hard... It was a relatively easy process!
Primorge, I've honestly NEVER done anything in the setup room as it always looked so daunting! But because you went to the trouble of making this tutorial, I'll give it a try. Unfortunately, due to my work/sleep schedule, it won't occur until evening (Friday the 24th). I'll keep you posted

Yeah, Poser does some weird things now and then. I recently ran across another, less serious but still bothersome issue..... I have a bunch of poses I made and saved for M4 a while back. Never had a problem. But about a week ago as I was getting my things together to package and sell, I noticed that now when I apply a pose, M4 looks all wonky. Feet, legs, arms and hands are splayed out, CLOSE to the intended pose, but still different enough to make it aggravating. So now I'm going back and re-doing my pose library. Fortunately only about 10 - 12 poses total, but almost all need to be re-done. Not sure why, but I just chalked it up to a quirk of poser
