Agreed. Having a working knowledge of CATIA has helped. It would be nice to see some third party extensions that would provide additional modelling rooms, such as carving. Though one could carve in vertex, the interface isn't all that clean.

Yes. All models were developed from within Carrara in the vertex and spline methods. Although I must admit that I'm having a bitch of a time with some complex models I'm trying to create. Think I may use a lofting technique. My probelm is that I've storyboarded this environment for an animation sequence and all characters need to interact...what a chore. Thanks for the compliment...I'll tell my folks that the architecture degree paid off after all! Hope to share improvements in techniques.

Thanks. Actually the entire image is setup for animation. The "green mist" will be an envelope surrounding the sphere as it progresses out into the foreground for a morph. As I said, there is a lot more detail to be added and the ambient light has to calm down. All in all, I'm satisfied for my first image. Thanks again for the input and the JPG suggestion...I'll post my final image that way.
