just a reminder that now is the ideal time (fresh install) to figure out some multiple runtime system. I guess you could install your poser 4 runtime as one of your multiple poser 5 runtimes (if you are having poser 4 and 5 together) but saving a cr2 from poser 5 into the poser 4 runtime may cause problems in poser 4 if you try and load it. maybe you can try some sort of registry cleaner ? although they are a bit scary..

while on the subject .. the habware plugin will only work to v5.x of Max not 6, and there are 2 versions .. 1 for v4 and 5, and one for v3 so make sure you get the right one. I also had a problem with models exported with a new UV map .. habware would only output correct uv if I exported as only triangles :( .. it was joining 2 UV coords together or something weird like that.

Just wanted to totally agree with you about Acrobat 6 .. it was a definite backward step. I dont know that I can be much help with the problem though.. the only thing I can think of is that the windows association for acrobat 6 is still there.. if you right click (or SHIFT right-click for win 9x)) an acrobat .pdf file in explorer you get an "open with" option you can then select the association is correct and select acrobat 5 if not.. doubt its the problem but hope it helps.. I used to use the settings that PhilC is using, but then suddenly habware plugin decided not to scale down by 1000 for some reason so now just use import and outport scale as 1.. but when I import a .obj I select it in Max (using th e H key select dialog) and right click the scale button to get the scale type in dialog and set the scale for x y and z all to 100,000 % this lets you see and work on the model ok.. but I remember someone posting a better scal factor (400 odd I think ) that should actually convert poser metres to 3ds metres.. anyway if you use Max to do the scaling before export you must use the scale type in to set the scale back to 100%. doubt its relevent, but I got a spam mail form a company called "only-best-things.com" selling cheap laptops.. the thing is my mail is very clean generally, and I have the luxury of infinite addresses .. it was sent to me via my renderosity address, since this address has only ever been used in my renderosity profile (which shouldnt be available to anyone should it) its a bit worrying .. and more worrying is: there was a clickable link at the bottom of the page that you should click if you dont want anymore emails from them, I think I was probed successfully :( I just goto the site : http://only-best-things.com/ .. and get this message .. "Whats up, Neo ? :-) " I think Ive definately been had ;(

maybe the wrong track..but , maybe you should consider doing a tutorial for something everyone has access to if you choose 3rd party programs maybe use just free ones ?

oh,, and I want to know how you do that famous hitchcock ..or was it speilberg .. where the camera zooms in on the face but at the same time opens its field of vision or somehting and the background like moves in at you... :) thatd look good as an animation... thank you that will suffice.. lol Barrie

personally would like to see a good technical explaination of perspective and camera focal distances, but thats lazy of me, because I'm sure theres lots of info out there. I do think that cameras play a large role in the pictures and I for one don't understand them. Best Wishes. Barrie.
