What operating system are you using - 95, 98, 98 SE, or Windows NT? Generally, Windows NT tends to be more stable whenever you're doing graphics intensive or processor intensive renders. Have you scanned your hard drive for errors - this is a stretch, but if you're cache file is hitting a bad segment or a misallocated file, this could account for your problems. When you say no other programs are running, does this include programs that run in the background, such as virus checkers, etc... Unfortunately, these sorts of problems are difficult to trouble-shoot. Good luck, Brent
Thread: Veggie Bundle question? | Forum: Vue
This is how I got it to work: 1) select the bonny clump 2) from the display menu, select "display material summary" 3) right click the "bonny petal" frame. Select 'edit material' from the context menu. 4)make sure you are in the "color" tab - it usually defaults to this tab. 5) in the 'color production' frame, you'll see two boxes - the first contains a graph, the second a solid color. 6) right click the second box, choose 'edit color map' from the context menu 7) click the 'new keycolor' button and select the color you want. 8) close all of the windows and when you render the petal color should be the color you selected. 'Easy' is a relative term, but this doesn't seem very 'easy' to me -- maybe I'm going about it the hard way, though. Are there any Vue pros out there that know the 'easy' way?
Thread: Vue vs. Bryce | Forum: Vue
There is a web site that reviews the features of Vue vs. those of Bryce: http://www.gdiekert.de/3dstuff.htm I would go with Vue over Bryce because of the vegetation. Good luck, Brent

ok this is a stretch, but have you checked your drive for errors? If you are using that many pixels, there's a chance that you're using a lot of VM space, and if you are hitting a bad / mis-allocated sector, then it might account for the problem. Also, are you rendering under 95/98 or NT? 95 and 98 manage memory very poorly, so there is a chance that this is producing the error. Good luck- Brent
Thread: VUE in Win2K | Forum: Vue
I e-mailed them about this issue in January, and this was the response I got: ---------------------------- From: Steve Bell [mailto:sbell.support@e-onsoftware.com] Sent: Monday, January 10, 2000 5:54 AM To: Brent Moberly Subject: Re: Vue D'Esprit 3.0 and Windows 2000 Vue 3 will not run under Win 2000 until this OS is stabilized. Sorry. When it is, we'll release an update (if necessary) to make sure it performs OK. Regards. ------------------------ I wonder when they will consider Windows 2000 "stabilized." Sorry to gripe, but it's really frustrating to have to boot back to NT 4.0 whenever I want to use Vue, especially when all of my other applications function fine, if not better, under 2000. oh well...
