I had my playing card, the Black Joker, completed and was about to post it when I noticed that someone already had created one. I'm more upset about the fact that some people blatantly disregarded cards others had reserved earlier than them and made whatever the hell they wanted to anyways. I took my time creating it because I wanted to create something completely unique and characteristic of my darker style. Thats why I chose the Black Joker. There are plenty of cards that were not done at all, everyone ignored the names on the list and their reserved cards and just made what they wanted to. I know that everyone here has the freedom to do whatever they want and express themselves however they want, but why the hell did we go through signing up for what card we wanted to do if it meant nothing whatsoever? Ah well, fuck it. I'll drop the background and use the render for something else.

I hate to be blunt, but senjin needs a reality check. Just because you have used a format/idea/look/etc in art once doesnt mean that you have a copyright on it. First: his images don't look at all like playing cards nor do they state it in their descriptions... second: artists have used cards as a medium for centuries. Tarot decks, playing cards, collectable cards, card games, comic decks, fantasy decks. Putting a green "A" on the thumbnail of an item that you are selling in the marketplace doesnt give you exclusive rights to using a deck of cards as a medium for art. I've been working on a Tarot deck for the last 6 months, does that mean that from now on noone can ever create a tarot deck again?

The head LOOKS fine, its just that its about 3/4 the size that it should be. People of averagge height dont have tiny heads like that. This is taken with the barbarian morph -- which I particularly like. Her head is way too small though, with ANY morph. The emaciated morph is pretty disturbing.

They took about 3 minutes to load and I'm on cable. Compress to 100% JPG and the quality is almost the same but they take up less than 1/10th the space.

Ill do some 2D sketches of the boots I was thinking of, and maybe someone can have a go at making them. If not I'll eventually figure out how to make them myself.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I use 100megsfree as my Gallery space, and freehost.nu to host any files that may violate another sites terms of service. www.freehost.nu is hilarious -- they dont even have a terms of service. you just go to a page when you enter your username and password and poof youre in. hehe. only drawback is that its a mite sluggish in peak hours.

You'd have to get assymetrical morphs to do Shannen Doherty's face -- seeing that her right eye is like 3 feet below her left one. Please dont tell me noone else noticed that all her pictures have her head tilted to lessen the quasimodo effect. :)

Tripod probably deleted your site. You arent allowed to serve files from it or show any nudity whatsoever. I had 2 renders which showed partial nudity and they deleted my site without warning and locked me out of my account. If you link from renderosity to any freestuff hosted on your site theyll also delete it because I think they automatically analyze the referring pages. Currently I'm hosting it with www.100megsfree.com but they also have some conditions. Your best bet for hosting that has NO CONDITIONS at all (hey they dont even have TOS) is probably www.freehost.nu They aren't the fastest web space provider but apparently they dont care about what you do with the space.

Nope, shes going in the free stuff section. As for the boots, I've sent an email to the creator and I havent gotten a response. Ah well, I'll be happier if I model the boots myself because then the entire figure will be created by me and I wont have to worry about permissions or copyrights.

Looks good. Just a suggestion but maybe you could add some transparency to the screen part of it, and try a render with some light filtering through and the silhouette of the model. I've never tried anything like that in Poser so I'm not sure if the rendering engine is up to it. I once tried a render with the louvred lighting effect to cast shadowed lines on the model. I made a transmap with solid white bars and black ones, then applied it to a square prop and placed it between the light and the figure ... but I couldnt set the amount of light that went through. It either went through 100% or none at all -- and it had some wierd distortions and anomalies. I ended up redoing the scene and making each of the louvre slats separately out of primitives. My point is that so far I think the Poser rendering engine is pretty limited -- every time I think I'm starting to understand the ins and outs of it it goes and does something completely unpredictable. Ah well. I'm getting propack soon and then I'll do all of my rendering in Max.

;( I really dont like taking shortcuts. Like with the straps on her legs, it would have been so much easier just to paint them on her texture but i made them a clothing item instead. So rather than paint them on a texture I want to create them on the boot itself. The boots she is wearing are the boots that I cant get permission to use. If I use the standard poser boots they are way too thin and dressy. I need something bulky and rough, like combat boots. I like the unzipped combat boot idea with draggy laces, or a bulky goth style boot with wide straps/buckes around the ankle and calf. Ah well. I'm working my way through the 3DSMax 4 tutorials, I'll figure it out eventually. I'm a pretty fast learner. Just that I'm under pressure from some people here (and I wont mention any names Nikita) to release them already. :) Thanks for the quick responses... Cheers -broken
