I had the the same problem. White screen, could not see a thing, even though Flash was working on other sites. I then used the link on the DAZ site, to download and install Flash Player version 6, and now the DAZ Flash site works fine. I am no expert on Flash, but it would appear to me, you must have version 6 of the Player, for the DAZ Flash site to work.
Thread: A few words about the Poser 5 registration/installation procedure | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, at least there is no hardware dongle, like the poor Lightwave users have. I used to own Lightwave, and If the dongle became damaged or accidentally fried (as it did in my case ), the software would not work. It was a case of send it back and wait for a replacement. A new one took 3 weeks to arrive.
Personally, I think Maxon have the right idea with Cinema 4D XL 7, the 3D software I now use. You only have to register once, by email or post, and you are sent a permanent serial number that can be used no matter how many times you reinstall, change your PC or format your hard drive. And this software is far more expensive than Poser 5, and I would have thought, be more attractive to piracy problems. Just my personal opinion.
Thread: Poser 5....Buying from the UK | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just visited "Computers Unlimited" and it says "We do not sell directly to end users". You then have to click on a link and I assume it is supposed to tell you where to buy the software you are after. This was not working when I tried. There is also no mention of Poser 5 on the site.
However, it does appear you can order upgrades from "www.upgrades.co.uk" as this is listed as a link. But again, on this site there is no mention of Poser 5 upgrade. Of course this is no good if you wish to buy the full version. Just to have to give it some time I guess, and wait for them to start advertising it.
Thread: Poser 5....Buying from the UK | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The upgrade Prices are good, but its the TAX and other import costs here in the UK that will boost the price. I am based in the UK. I was about to order the P5 upgrade from the Curious Labs Store, but from my experience of ordering other graphic software from the US, I have always been charged VAT, Import duty and a Post Office Handling fee. Thats 3 extra charges on top of the US asking price. I may just wait for the UK based companies to start selling the upgrade.
Thread: Anthony: ONE level of undo, still?? Also new PDF Manual problems ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I wasn`t going to add any more to this thread, but the more I think about it, the more stupid only having one undo now seems.
It appears to me, that Poser 5 is now aiming for the pro market, as well as the amatuer side, especially with the new render engine and the other new features. Poser 5 is certaintly looking more attractive to animators and arists who work in small production companies. When this product gets reviewed by magazines such as 3D World, I would bet the "one undo" feature will be listed in thier "cons" list. In modern 3D software having multiple undos is a essential "must have" feature, not a luxury. If you are working on a job with a deadline, and the only way to recover your mistakes is to revert to a version you saved 20 mins ago, or to mess with dials and memory buttons, then I cannot inderstand what CLs were thinking of.
Maybe they have left the one undo "feature" in for nostalgia reasons, reminding us all who started using Poser with Version 2, what it used to be like.
Thread: Anthony: ONE level of undo, still?? Also new PDF Manual problems ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just wondering, why is there still only one level of undo ? Is there a technical reason behind it?
All modern 3D software seems to have left the "one level of undo" behind them, buried in the past. Having a multiple undo is a quick and easy way to revert to your last 2 or 3 changes, without having to reset dials or delete figures. Imagine Photoshop, or Lightwave, or any other Modern graphics software having the multiple undo taken away. It just puzzles me thats all. I will still upgrade to Poser 5, but this was one feature I was hoping would have been changed. Ok, moan over.

Thread: World Builder and Poser?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use World Builder to import .PZ3 (You need the Pro pack installed though ) and .OBJ format with no problems. I find World Builder to be stable, as long as you are running Win XP and have at least 512mb RAM installed. I have found no problems with the textures coming in from a .PZ3, so far its all worked fine. There is a bit of a steep learning curve for WB, if you are not used to 3D stuff like MAX/Lightwave.
Thread: "coordinating" colors between Photoshop & Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not sure if this answer will help, but I had a similiar problem recently. I had to match a Poser animation of Vicky to a 3D background sent to me by a colleague (Rendered in Cinema 4D XL 7)
There was no way I could do this in Poser, it was, as you have found, almost impossible to match the colours. The way I solved this, was to take both images into Photoshop, and then use the various colour adjustments in Photoshop on both images until they matched. I then saved them with the same colour space active (sRGB). I recorded the colour adjustmets as a Photoshop action. I then rendered my animation frames from poser as stills. I then ran the Photoshop action on all the individual Poser frames. The colour adjusted frames from Poser, and the 3D background were then taken into Adobe After Effects, where the final animation was created. The Poser frames all had alpha channels to allow the background to show through.
A time consuming technique, but it was the only way to get the colours to match in the final animation.
Thread: Has Anyone used Aurora 1.0? | Forum: Photoshop
I purchased it when it first appeared about 2 months ago, and have been using it a lot since, for commercial work and just playing around. Its skies are incredible, and look very realistic. One of the best features for me, were the volumetric style light beams. In some instances I have stopped rendering volumeric light in my 3D renders and have started adding them using Aurora instead.
Apart from adding new or enhanced elements to photos, its very good at creating natural looking images from scratch, that look very real after a bit of Photoshop work. I could go on, but if you have any specific questions I will be happy to answer them.
There is one small issue, and that while it works fine in PS 6, in PS 7 the status bar appears to be stuck when you click on the render button. In fact Aurora is working fine, but it just means you cannot tell how long its going to take to display its rendered image. I have mentioned this on to Digital Element, and they say a fix will appear.
Thread: Making money with Poser besides brokering. Some info | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Recently I used Poser to render some people for a holiday brochure, heavily retouched them in Photoshop, and the result was so realistic my customer thought I had hired female models. I did not want to admit at the time they were computer generated, so I said yes, they were real people and they cost a fortune to hire. He was impressed with my brochure layout and design, and paid me on the spot. He then wrote me a 2nd cheque for $700 to cover the models fees. Needless to say I was very happy.
I have learned its possible to make good money from Poser, as long as my output (renders) are retouched so as to no longer look poser generated, especially when using them in flyers and brouchures. Its takes a lot of Photoshop work, but as I`ve been using Photoshop since version 2, its 2nd nature to me. As a previous thread mentioned, no hassle of the models not turning up or throwing a fit.
I hope this thread inspires more people to make money from poser.
Thread: No pictures showing!!? Help! | Forum: Community Center
I had this problem, I was using IE6 (With WinXP Pro). I had all my settings set to allow cookies but could still not view images. I had to resort to installing Netscape Navigator 6.2 just to view Renderosity and images. This works fine. As I am running IE6 with allow all cookies, and this is the only web site that gives this problem, I am now under the impression that its renderosity that has some sort of problem with the cookie. None of my colleagues can view images (they are also using XP pro and IE6) and have also had to resort to using Netscape just to view Renderosity images.
Thread: Additional vegetation | Forum: Vue
Hi all I recently (about a week ago) purchased 5 vegetations from e-on`s site, and they all work perfectly with Vue 4. But, you do need to download the zip file with the updated materials or some plants will not render propoerly.
Thread: I Give Up! | Forum: Vue
Bloodsong, Varian and anybody else who may be interested, this is my technique. One thing to bear in mind, it takes a lot of fiddling to get just right. Its a case of change a setting, render preview, change a setting, render preview and so on. The above image took approx 40 mins to get looking ok. Please remember, this is only one method, it is not a rule. I`m sure someone else may find a better or quicker option. If you do please post. * I remove all volumetric settings from the sunlight. I add a quadratic spotlight to the scene (better falloff) and turn on volumetric and gel for the light. Because of the spotlight bug which renders a horrible black area if the camera is directly facing the light, the spotlight has to be very carefully placed. Normally I place near the top and to the side of the object/s to receive the rays. In the above scene the light was placed to the left of the eagles wing and swiveled to the right. * To add the delicate rays seen above, I have found the image needs to be fairly dark.I could not achieve the same effect with the original atmosphere settings. So i tend to lower the various sky/Sun settings to first darken the image. You do not need to change by huge amounts, just gentle lowering of exposure, and then play with light balance and ambient light, again using small adjustments. Rays can be achieved in light sunny scenes, but do not look as dramatic. * I then add a bitmap gel to the Quadratic spotlight. Any bitmap will do, but i find a black and white or greyscale pattern works best. Its a case of experimenting here. Try the various bitmaps that come with Vue to see what effect they have. In the eagle scene i used one called "Wcaustic.bmp" (its a greyscale bitmap of a caustics type pattern). * Next I play with the intensity of the volumetric light setting, turning it up full and keeping an eye on the main camera preview. I gradually lower this until pleasing looking rays start to appear. You may also need to adjust the spotlights power, falloff and spread to achieve pleasing results. For the final render i boost the spotlights volumetric quality bost setting to 2 or 3 to achieve a better rendered image. The rays tend to look too grainy if the setting is left on none. Well, thats about it. To sum up, it takes about five mins to set up the objects and light and then loads of time playing with the atmosphere and spotlight settings. Hope this small post, points you in the right direction. I intend to publish my own website soon, with a gallery of my artwork and maybe some tutorials for Vue and other 3D packages. I will post the address when its ready. All the best Capt Morgan
