Thread: Content Question Help a Newbie | Forum: DAZ|Studio
First and foremost, it seems to be a fairly recognized fact that if you install Studio to your program files directory it will create problems as vista is very protective of that file, secondly, until you have worked with studio enough to get the feel of it you will probably be better off using the view "content as a tree" option as a lot of newcomers have trouble with the content manager. All the advice in the earlier posts is good also.

To put a pose into free stuff for use in DAZ Studio just use the .dsb file, that is all that is needed, if you want poser users to be able to use it then you will have to export it from Studio as a pz2 using the poser exporter, I have never used it but I am sure someone who has will come along and explain it. If not perhaps you cold contact Richard Hasseltine (sure hope I spelled that right). Richard has a list of tuts that cover nearly all subjects.

If you pose the character and then select it you can click on file saveas posepreset and save the pose in any directory you choose it will be in a dsb file named whatever you name it. I put a directory under content called casey42 and a subdirectory in it called poses then I save my poses with a name that I can remember what the pose does, you can even save animations this way.

A couple of words of advice, if you are using Vista install Studio outside of ProgramFiles, a lot of people have found vista interfers with the operations of Studio.
Later when you get more used to Studio you might want to use the content organizer but at the stat you will be better off turning it off for now. Get your content tab up (click view/tabs/content if it is not showing) click on the little arrow in the top right of the tab and select view files as tree.
