Quote - Considering the Mac forte is graphics ya it is a little puzzling..... but then I'm still on Windoze.
Have you heard of Virtual Box. It's a free virtual machine package by Sun. Lets you set up any OS which can then be used as a desktop app. from within your main OS. I have it and have used it on my XP machine to try out things without the need to add drives or partition drives. Might be worth a look.
The same problem remains that Windows even if only as a desktop app is on the same drive as my Mac OS. I'm sure it would likely not be a problem but I just feel much more comfortable about keeping them as separate as possible. I have plenty of room in my tower for more drives. So I will probably eventually take the long way around.
Thread: Mac Thumbnail Creation Tool? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am a Mac user.
When I make thumbs I do them 2 basic ways.
If I want to crop the picture to show a small portion of the image then I use a program called "GraphicConverter" because it has such a simple method for cutting a piece from a image. Then I make it the size I want using a program called "AutoResizer" to make the thumb whatever size is nescessary.
If I want to resize the complete image to a thumb I can use just "AutoResizer"
"AutoResizer" has the bonus of being able to resize a image to any size and quality and is not a thumbs only tool.
Both softwares (I think) are either shareware or freeware and can be had for little or no cost.

Quote - There's always Boot Camp, assuming your Mac has an Intel processor. I think, I have no experience with Macs.
I have had boot camp for a a while (not installed) but have not gotten around to buying a new hard drive or buying Windows yet. I do not want to split my hard drive and install Windows on the same drive I have my Mac OS on. I want to keep them as separate as possible.
That is a option for the future though. I just think it is a shame that venders continue to ignore Mac users.

Quote - I don't think there is a MAC version for TC2.
I checked also and I could not find any Mac versions. What a shame considering how many new Mac users there are now.

Quote - Just did a quick check, TC2 not for Mac. So much for that idea. As for using A3 on V3 the texture maps are the same but A3 has two material zones for the legs where V3 only has one. This means that if you try to apply a mat pose from A3 to V3 the legs will not have the texture applied. Just go to the material room, copy the Image Map node from SkinTorso to SkinLeg and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.
That is a very helpful idea. I will try that out. Thank you.
So I am guessing that will not work when it comes to using a A3 texture and trying to use it on V4 because they are so different.

Quote - I've been using Texture Convertor 2 avialable over at Daz. Does a very nice job. Huge time savings over manually trying to refit a texture.
Does Texture Converter 2 work on a Mac?
Most 3rd party programs seem to be for PCs only. grumble

Quote - Aiko 3 and V3 more or less uses the same texture. YOu'll have to apply some of the leg textures manually, that's about it.
for V4 OTOH.. she's mapped completely different. You'll need Texture Convertor for that. :)
How would I apply the leg textures manually?

Quote - Billy-t's jeans here are amazing and have a zipper undo, drop morph. I use them all the time, they are very realistic :-)

I'm a huge fan of Billy-T I have many of his items. Here's another to add to my wishlist!

Quote - TrekkieGirl has a set of morphing "Drop-em" jeans for the G2 guys. With WW or crossdresser, you can convert them to whatever character you need. I don't have that set, but it looks interesting. Wishmaster also has or had a set of morphing jeans in the freebie section here for V4 with unzip, and droop morphs. I also highly recommend V4 Jeanz by 3DWizard at DAZ- fantastic everyday jeans.
I use a Mac.
Most after market add ons don't have a Mac version. I don't think crossdresser does or does it?!
Thanks to everyones help I am able to find several choices for female character but this still leaves the male characters uncharted. I saw there was a version of jeanz for Micheal 1 could they also work on M3 and or David with some adjustments?

Daz shows Jeanz for Mike 1 but not M3, I wonder why? The V4 version is on sale though! :)
I hope there are more to choose from then 1 choice/style!

You are very right! That is also one of my biggest concerns!
Thread: Image Gallery Concern | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - well, that's weird, anyway. I recall at another gallery using php software, some guy
would go in there and dump hundreds of low ratings per day at random. somebody
should tell nic and the others to patch that. in addition, disallow all html, javascript,
xml or java elements in gallery comment fields.
Those are excellent security ideas that should be done!
