was it possible to select them all on the scene tab and then parent them on the scene tab too?

I did edit the original CR2 and im using tri-ax system for my rigging which means its on DS4.

@rhaseltine: being a new pa like myself I was really at the mercy of this program, without proper documentation or some tutorial existing with this 3d software creating your own product is a very frustrating experience.
Finally thanks to your response regarding this cr2 problem I am facing I have realized my problem is a very simple one to begin with, now here is my rendered donchan house that loads on the screen and all bones was placed right as it should be when exported. : )
My understanding is that TriAx rigging can't be saved to a .cr2 -- instead it is converted to PP2012 rigging, which cannot be loaded in DS4, only in P9/PP2012
*I just did rigged it using triax system and NOW successfully exported it as .cr2 file :D,

Quote - Are you editing the original CR2, or did you try rebuilding in DS? Exactly which version of DS are you using, and what export settings did you use for the Parametric rigged version of the house?

Thanks now it shows on my screen but there is a problem, I see two kinds of doors and house one that has no material name on it and the other one with the materials assigned.
I checked my material names on blender and it is indeed needed to be assigned on the cr2 as you have shown but why are the bones misplaced?
Can you give me some links or tutorial about cr2? does it mean you have to manually edit all your created cr2 from ds4?

I tried to follow what you said and redid the first part of the cr2 but after loading it when I tried to rotate the door it is off center and bones were also not placed properly even though I placed them right.

Quote - And the OBJ is grouped? If you are willing, could you put the cr2 and OBJ in a zip so people can check them for possible issues.

this is my complete runtime of cr2

So many issues and problems fix it first and I would love to see some constraints and ik/fk rigging on models too.

I have tried using the parametic legacy on skeleton setup but its not very good especially on square corners and angles, I did export it as cr2 and same bones was appearing on ds4 screen.

My problem is when I tried to export my created cr2 custom movable props when I tried to load it only shows the bones, any explanation on this?
I always use the tri-ax when using skeleton setup tool but havent tried the Parametic (legacy option), ill try it and see if it loads the model on the screen or it will be the same only bones again.

Quote - this may help
thanks that would work on poser which I am trying as of now, but what I would like is that it would also work on ds4 too whichI think is not going to happen.
Now im just using .dsf files to export my props so that I can be able to open it on ds4, was it possible to create a thumbnail version of .dsf file too? how to do it?
Thread: DAZ 4 does not want you to export your own created props! | Forum: DAZ|Studio
OK now I finally figured out how to save properly as .dsf files and all bones were now in place (ds4 creator should really make a documentation how to use this product SERIOUSLY!). My only problem now is saving it as poser format (cr2 or pp2).
Thread: DAZ 4 does not want you to export your own created props! | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I attempted again to save my custom props into .dsf files and after opening it all the bones seems to reset to its left side corner even though I have placed them properly and carefully!

Quote - are you just trying to save the door?
cause you do not have the parent figure selected-just the door, and your cr2 exporter has nothing listed in the top part...also you do know that a cr2 is a poser file not ds, so your runtime needs to be listed under the poser catagory and clicked on from there.
Believe me I want to save the whole figure and before I exported it to cr2 I selected the main parent, as for the runtime I already put it in poser category.

This DS4 is really giving me headache! now im trying to export my custome movable props into a .dsf file(created with CCT), all rigs and bones are in "proper place". Now after saving it as a .dsf file I open it again only to find out this time my bones are not on the exact place as I have put, I tried it many times and it still after loading the bones are all misplaced!
What is really going on with this program??? am I missing something here?

@daremok3: "I'm a little confused...What exactly are you trying to accomplish?"
Hi daremok3 I have created a simple house prop with a door that revolves, I have created this model from blender and then used the CCT from ds4 (tri-ax,skeleton setup tools, joint editor, weight painting).
"You do know that props (.pp2 - stationary) are different from characters (.cr2 - moveable), right?"
Im not aware of that thank you for informing me about those things, I used the pp2 exporter script too on my ds4 and maybe that's the reason I see my model but the bones I have created was not rigged/attached on the models itself.
"If you are trying to create a character prop (moveable parts prop) out of your stationary prop, I think you might be going about it all wrong. I think the .CR2 exporter was designed for character exports to be used with other software such as Poser, or Carrara."
I just want to export my created custom props with movable props so that I can redistribute it either for free or commercial. I just want it to load on the screen and 100% complete with parts and rigged but now its not happening and I really dont know why...
@rhaseltine:"It appears it is a figure, if you look at what is selected in the Scene pane. However, as I said in your Poser forum thread, you should not include the Runtime folder in the base path. You also need to have the OBJ already set to Poser scale and located in the correct folder (RuntimeGeometrieswhatever) when you import it into the Figure Setup pane as it remembers that location for the CR2."
Isnt it model that was created thru Skeleton Setup Tool(ds4) considered a figure? I have created a bone which is the body(house) and a child bone(door) then rigged then using the tri-ax weight painting. All is working good and I have tested it working but I JUST DONT KNOW what to do to share it for free or commercial use.
I tried to export it as a .cr2 file I even created my own folder(runtime/libraries/props/simple house) and set my base on my runtime. As for my geometries I have created my own folder too just to be sure (runtime/geometries/simple house/house.obj) and then EXPORTED IT AS CR2.
Guess what happens?... I see my own thumbnail but when I clicked on it and load all I see is just BONES!!! where is my model and what happened to them? I even checked my cr2 path using crimson editor just to be sure and here is the photo
@@daremok3: "O.K., maybe you already made the switch to Poser for content creation (I use both by the way), but in case you are still willing to give DS4 another try for this project:
From the looks of you thread (at second glance) you are trying to create a character prop, and it looks like your only hangup was how to finalize the work into a working character file.
Because DS4's new creation tools are completely different than it's predecessors, or Poser's, you will have to do things a little differently than before (if you have been creating content before)."
Im still thinking right now if im gonna invest my time again to learn something new like poser and from what I can see its very promising, even if ds5 comes out I think it still have lots of issues especially for those artist like me who creates content models(just to let you know this is my first time being a PA).
"First, did you create your skeleton via parametric (DS3/Poser) bones, or did you use the proprietary Triax Weghtmap system?"
I created it using the ds4 Triax system and I cant imagine myself using ds3 system for corners and squares models it is very difficult as I noticed ds3 use only spheres and joints which is not enough.
"If you used Triax then the following might help you. I've never parametric rigged in DAZ Studio (any versions), so I am not sure of the correct saving procedure, but there are tutorials availabe for this.
In order to solidify your creation with the CCT's (for Triax rigging) you have to "save" (that's save, not export) your bone completed model under FileSave AsAssestsDSF Figure or Prop.
Mind you, I am going from memory (content creator myself), but I have not finished my first cup-o' coffee yet, so the noggin' is still a little hazy. That might not be the exact path, but you get the gist.
Instead of .cr2 for DS4 you are creating it's proprietary format .dsf. Once this is created and in your library you could probably export it out using the CR2 Exporter. But, and I am assuming again, you will probably need to change back to parametric rigging if you created this work with Triax Weighted rigging."
I never tried using a dsf file before and can you please give me details how to use it with conjunction to cr2 exporter.
@wallace3d: "Daz Studio has the ability for you to create props
*with morphs and share with others. it even puts *
it into catagories if you want. for example.
I created a desk with drawers all as one OBJ
*and created Morphs for the drawers to open *
and close. then saved it as a Daz Prop.
You can then save the files it creates and share
with others. However it will not create a PP2"
I just want to create a movable props with bones that can be moved, also I have think of using morphs as solution to my problem but it has its limitation, all I want is bones and my rigged model to appear on my screen when I load my model.
