but you can export daz or poser content into maya i think.... and arnold has a plugin for maya, so i should be able to do lighting and rendering via arnold this way i believe

is modo any good for rendering/lighting?
it seems to have a very intuitive interface and workflow, much similar to how zbrush is for modeling/sculpting

so as a general guideline,
for now, as a new user to poser, i should mostly just get character 4 like Victoria 4, Michael 4, Aiko 4 and avoid version 5 for now until everything is completely figured out and it's completely stable in Poser/Poser Pro.
And, for characters such as Victoria 4, etc... if there's a Weight-mapped version of it, then i should go for that as that will be specifically for Poser Pro and will make the posing process less of a pain due to better joints/bending mechanism that are supported by Poser Pro 2012. correct?

Hi guys,
Need a motherboard and memory recommendation.
Let me begin by telling you what other hardware i have, so you'll know what type of motherboard/memory to suggest.
Currently, I have the following:
Intel Quad Core i7 930 (note: i7 runs on 1366 socket. so motherboard will have to match this)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115225&cm_re=intel_core_i7--19-115-225--Product
MSI R5770 Hawk Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127490
the motherboard i'm looking for is around 170-230 dollars range. must be 1366 socket of course to run the i7. have 6 memory slots. sata/usb of course. crossfirex or crossfirex/sli... and of course, as many other features as possible. but with good reputation, customer review... and low temp.
now i know some motherboards support 800/1066/1333 ddr3ram standards... while some support 1066/1333/1600.... while others have 1600(oc) or even 2200 (oc)...
i do not want to Overclock anything in my system. and i would love to be able to run the best 3x(2gigs ram) = 6gigs of ram (to fully utilize the triple channels)
so i would love to have a motherboard that can do 1600 memory without overclocking, or is 1333 enough?
the reason why i put so much emphasis on memory is because i will be using the computer to do 3d renders... which mostly utilizes the system's cpu and memory. but i'm wondering whether to go for 1600 or 1333.
and since the motherboard and memory go hand in hand... i'm a bit puzzled as to what to get for the both of them. lol
in addition, simply looking at the ram being sold on newegg is enough to make me go dizzy... some 1333 costs more than 1666 (i guess because of its lower 'timing' such as 8-8-8-24.
anyway... if anyone could clarify whether i should go for the 1600 memory or the 1333.. and recommend a good motherboard and 3x(2gigs) memory set that would go perfectly with my existing hardware, i would greatly appreciate it !! :)
Thread: Softwares for ENHANCING POSER work | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
would you use cinema4d over 3dstudiomax? or how about maya? isn't that on the same level as 3dstudiomax? what the difference between cinema4d and 3dstudiomax?
so after the base poser work is done. you use vue to add in the background 'cuz vue is better for doing landscapes and background images? bryce is too right? except vue is many levels above it?
and then when you have done the background, then you import it into cinema4d for a simple render?
and zbrush is the best software for adding details and textures to the characters?
what about postwork with photoshop or corel paint? obviously i know about photoshop, but i've been hearing alot of buzz surrounding corel paint. these two essentially do the same job right? but is corel paint more superior?
lastly, other than the above mention stages.... are there anything else that people use other softwares with?

is anyone interested in talking on msn or yahoo? i think it would be a great way for newcomers like myself to be able to chat with one another and push each other and discuss techniques that they are practicing, or share experiences in something they've learned.
Not only would we be able to talk to each other, we can even send our work and samples to one another.. of course, any experienced Poser users are also welcomed, your expertise and wealth of knowledge are what we all strive for. :)
anyway, if interested, drop me a PM
