I've done both same file names & separate file names in the past, without problems, but it is worth a try to assign different file names if it will keep one from having to jump throught the hoops I've had to in the current process. Thanks Cynthia. Suzanne

Andrea, I guess we cross posted. Try what I did and see if it works for you. But be prepared for a long wait before the images appear. Go to "My Gallery" as well to see if you can see your image & thumb. What a mess! Suzanne

I uploaded the same file for the image above in this thread. I am submitting the correct files in the correct boxes on the upload screen. I use IE browser and never had a problem like this in the past. I uploaded the image again, without the thumb. After a long time the image appeared in My Gallery as it should. Then I went back and edited the upload by adding the thumb. At first the thumb and the main image didn't appear in the Gallery, then I went to My Gallery and both thumb and image finally appeared as they both should. What a work around. I think there is a problem with Renderosity. Another artist had the same problem last night on his gallery. Next time I'm in touch with him I will tell him what I had to do and see if it works for him as well. Thank you so much Karen for your suggestion. Suzanne

OK I tried to upload my image for the umpteenth time. It still looked like a blown up thumb. So I decided to save it to disk and check it out. My heavens, a thumb is in the gallery, although I uploaded the correct image. So I have a thumb with a link to a thumb. For some reason, in the uploading process my image file is getting converted to a thumbnail image instead of the actual file size of 750 x 500. HELP! Please! Suzanne

Wow! The image loaded just fine in the forum. So why am I having trouble uploading it to my gallery? Anyone have an idea? Suzanne

Someone I know had this problem all his life. He finally went for help recently and was medicated. Well, he says it is wonderful to feel normal. He didn't know what normal was before. He no longer has the anger or violence and is happy and with much peace. His creativity has not diminished, in fact it increased because he can focus better. I guess it depends on the person, as to what path is to be taken. But I would add that if someone feels a desire to take their life, it may be important to find help before one no longer has the ability to make that judgement, that would definitely end the "Gift". Best Wishes

Thanks tantarus! I have links to quality plug-ins, etc. made by serious professionals. I'm afraid much of what is on the link you provided has to do with older PS versions, some of which won't work with PS CS2. Since it isn't always easy to determine what version the plugin was made for, I have to pass on a lot of plugins. I took a look at your gallery. I'm wondering if you will be posting some of your non-Bryce, PS original work that doesn't use plugins? I would like to be inspired by such original work. From your comments, I gather you have considerable experience at producing such original and pure work. Would you please share that with us? Thank you so much for your post and link :) Suzanne

Great going Bob. Just want to clarify that to get the jpeg size reduction you have to reduce the quality slider and watch the the size at bottom of the upper right window of the 4up view. I usually don't have to go below 70% reduction in quality to arrive at 15k size of thumb, and usually I am in the 80's. At any rate, I will have to try the .gif procedure you mentioned to see what I get. Thanks for the option. Saw your first image in you gallery. Wonderful. I like seeing the larger view than I normally see on DA. Allows me to view more detail. Nice!

I have been download freebee's, and will continue, tossing what is useless to me. I have KPT and really like them. I just ordered Knockout 2. I use both Painter and Photoshop. I was interested in Fred Miranda's Digital Soft Focus. I like the effect, but wasn't sure whether or not Photoshop could do the same with the subtle changes that look natural. I'll be testing that out to compare. I'm wide open on effects, but prefer those that mix well with painting and yet make it worthwhile to use. It's hard for me to describe. I want to be able to work with photos and try collage combining my painting & photos, and using filters for different effects. My feeling is to try to keep it simple, but impacting. I agree, I'll check them out and ask if anyone as experience with that effect. Thanks so much for all the input. Suzanne

Hmmm! Last night I wrote you a "Thank You" bonni for the tutorial. It's great! I really appreciate it. But, something must have happened to the system. I note that 3 of my comments in various threads disappeared. There must be a mischievious imp in the system or my computer! ;) Suzanne

Thanks for responding bonni. Artsy effects. I don't do web graphics or ornamentals. The things I saw were mostly camera related. I didn't see a free download page. Maybe I have to subscribe to be able to access that. Thanks again, Suzanne

I used to save "detail" thumbs when I did fractals, but haven't done that for a while, and not in PS. Bob may be interested in how to do that in more detail. Thanks, Suzanne

Sans2012, since I'm new to PS I like to learn from experienced users. In my previous programs, I used to resize my images before saving for web. With PS it seems redundant to do that in light of the ability to make adjustments within the process of saving. What is the advantage of changing the size of the image before saving for web first over adjusting it as part of the process of saving for web? Thanks, Suzanne

Hi Bob, I will try to help...but I'm new to PS as you already know. But, I've been here for a while using thumbnails, so maybe I can help. I think I remember that you have PS CS2. Select Save your image for the web. I use the 4up window and usually choose the viewer's upper right hand side window. Change the size of your image so that the longest side is 200 pixels, the other side will automatically reduce in proportion. Next, adjust the quality of your image till the size registers under 15k at the bottom of the image window. Then Save and you should be ready. If I missed something, let me know. Best wishes, Suzanne
