I'm having the exact same problem but I'm using firefox and it doesn't matter how I try to get to the product page - through an email newsletter link, from my wishlist, or even through a marketplace search - same thing happens; white page with nothing but the facebook 'like it' button. The page acts like it's still trying to load, but nothing ever happens no matter how long I leave it. This new feature has made it completely impossible for me to shop at Renderosity! :(
Thread: Newbie needs help - trying to move two figures posed together... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the help everyone! I like the idea of parenting the figures to a prop - that seems like a great solution to that problem. The shadows are going to be trickier. Lesbentley, thanks for the shadow tips. That makes a nice checklist - seems that there's a lot of little things to remember when it comes to lighting and shadows in Poser. I tried everything you suggested and still not even a faint hint of a shadow under the figures. I experimented with the figures in a simpler room - just a floor and back wall, and had no problem getting the shadows, so I think it's just that I don't have my original room lit properly. I'll just have to experiment with adding some more lights. I probably should have started with a simpler first project! :o)

Yeah, I was really surprised that there wasn't a way to select both figures, like by holding down the shift key or something while clicking on each one. And I'm having a hard time learning to set parents - I'll try it 3 or 4 times and the figures won't be linked, then inexplicably on the next try, they will be and I honestly don't know what I've done differently. But I've managed to get my figures into the room and where I want them, but now shadows (or the lack of rather) are giving me major problems. I think it may be that the floor of my room isn't sitting on the ground plane. I've tried File>figure>drop to floor, but the top of the floor is still above the ground plane (I also have a rug in there, and when I drop it to the floor, it falls a good little bit below the room's floor.) Oh well, shadows will just have to be a problem/question for another day. :o)

EnglishBob - thank you! I had tried that, but when the figures appeared, they were just hair, eyeballs, and a bit of skin here and there. Pretty creepy, lol. So I thought it just couldn't be done that way. After you suggested it though, I tried closing Poser completely, and trying again. Worked perfectly! I think maybe my PC just can't handle much Poser work at one time. dbowers22 - thanks for the parenting tip, too. I haven't worked with parenting much yet - maybe I can make that work for me in the future. Thanks y'all!

Very cool, xantor! That's a really creative use of the facial mapping feature. I'm starting to see that this thing has endless possibilities. Thanks for the tip - if (when) I get P6 I'll keep the shadow tip in mind. :o)

Thanks for posting those for me to see, Gladysclump. They're great! I especially like the 'Fabio' one. Now I really want to try the facial mapping feature. I have a feeling that I'll probably be getting P6 as soon as it comes out, and maybe by then I'll have a little working knowledge of Poser.
I thought that being able to capture a likeness in a character would be a great way of offering unique portraits to clients - they would supply a front and side view of the subject, but could get a completely unique portrait rather than just a copy of their photograph. :o)

Thanks so much for the advice everyone. You guys have helped me decide - I think I'll go for Poser 4 for right now. If the facial mapping feature isn't as great as it sounds, and if there are morph packs available (I never even thought of that), I think P4 is what I probably need for now.
And dlk30341, thanks for the info on P6 - I didn't know another version would be coming out soon. I do have a tendency to want the latest and greatest of everything. If there's a P6 on the horizon, I think I would do okay getting P4 for now, using it for awhile, and if I really get into it, I may get P6 when it comes out. I could always sell my used P4 on Ebay for a few bucks. :o)
