I've used the old low poly Poser 4 figures (low poly businessman etc) as crowd fillers quite successfully... just texture to suit the scene and add a few extras parented to each figure to get what you need... I used them for the maintenance crews in this scene for example...

My very first digital art (2D not 3D) was in Deluxe Paint and Microsoft Paint, back when Windows was still a DOS command prompt program on the 286 and 386 PC's back in the day...

Way different now than it was when I started out back with DS 1.5 and an old copy of Poser 4, hard to believe it's already been 9 years since I started making content (and over 10 since I first started tinkering in this stuff)!

Sadly most everyone I know has either already left or is leaving... and the community is a lowly shadow of what it used to be. I am very happy to hear that Fantasy Attic is willing to host your freebies, it'd be a shame to lose it all from the community!

My deepest sympathies my friend... I know we've not spoken much in some time, but I will always value the help that I got from people like you and BeyondVR when I was just starting out. I've enjoyed working with you as I have... My best to you and yours and my sincere condolences!
Thread: Texture help. Transparency question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, a transparency map would be the way to go... white is solidly visible and black is fully transparent/invisible and shades of grey give partial transparency, depending on how gradual you want the transition to be from visible to transparent. You'll want either full white/nearly black with the map slit 50/50, or a gradual fade from white to dark grey or black dependent on how transparent you want it to become and where...

I only mention Hiro 3 in an Aiko 3 thread because I know if you have either Cross-Dresser or Wardrobe Wizard, clothing can be converted between the two... though I expect most of us were already aware of that... lol

The older figures still have quite a bit of useful life left in them if one is willing to take the time to work with them, so I started making a few things for them when I made my own anime figure. Aiko and Hiro 3 were best suited to go with my own figure in terms of style. People often over-look how useful the older figures can still be... I've even found quite a few uses for stuff like the old Poser 4 low-poly businessman and skeleton figures...
Shukky has a bunch of A3 and H3 items on sharecg that are still available for download... :)

I've been making a few things for the old Aiko and Hiro 3 figures... Hiro 3 specially didn't get much in the way of support from any one...

Go ahead and upload it as a Freestuff item, I can always get the files that way. If I can tweak the displacement map somehow I'll let you know and will send you any fix I make for you to update the freebie if you like... Given the size of the item compared to an adult, I suspect that what you've got is more than sufficient for most purposes though. Thanks for being willing to make it for me! :)

No worries I do appreciate the effort and yes all the fine ridges on the lens rings and the battery housing would send poly-counts sky high... :)

There is a new one at Content Paradise.
Yeah... I finally broke down and modeled that one myself. I'd been hoping to avoid doing that as I have a massive terrains/vegetation pack I've been working on and I didn't want to get side-tracked in making something for a render I wanted to complete. I don't do many scenes that focus on people and didn't want to have to model something I'd only need once in a blue moon, but I'd been digging for days trying to find what I needed and just wasn't having any luck. Since I'd made the thing anyways I decided I might as well put it out there since there wasn't one available and at least now I can get my render done... :)
Thanks everyone for all your help! You can consider this Question resolved... :)
