My work isn't applicable to this challenge. I'm a Photoshop artist who uses Poser for preproduction. The artwork is 'rendered' in Photoshop, and strictly speaking, there is no 'post.' I understand the fascination with using the 3d tools by themselves to fully-realize a picture, and all of the examples above are VERY impressive! But I just wanted to gently remind the challenger that not all of us have the same methods or the same goals. My best work is a 13-page homage to jungle adventure comics called Jungle Fun Comics. So where do you vote on this thing? Some strong entries-- my pick is Terramag by Mayth, which has a particularly strong logo and seems like a 'real' magazine. Anyway, us newcomers have to stick together!
