I upgraded my PC (new) its a monster machine with windows 10 pro. Also just bought Vue Complete. It seems to work fine. However before shelling out more money I wanted to use Vue with Poser 6 but its doesn't import. Has anybody imported poser 6 into Vue 2015 ?? Does Poser 11 work on Vue 2015 (Complete)?
Thread: I'm using win7 64 bit, Poser 2014 and REALLY want to get back into Vue... | Forum: Vue
Hi Lyne, I'm in almost the same boat. I decided on buying a new monster machine, just bought Vue 2015 and find out I can't import Poser files into Vue. Vue said it imports pz3 files.... Now I assumed I could maybe use my old Poser 6 (Curious Labs) as it creates pz3 files and assumed that would be ok. So far not the case.
Sooo before I shell out more money for Poser 11 Can anybody tell me if Vue works with Poser 11 ?? Over the years I (we all have) spent so much money on content and I'd hate to throw it all away. Vue and Poser are my bread and butter.

I would be interested in how you make out in your time savings. So say on a single pc it took 13 hours to render and with 5 pc's with rendercow it took ....3.
I ask because I hooked up another pc to my network and rendered an animation using rendercow and two PC's. I dont know what it was for sure but i wasnt very impressed with the time savings. I can hook upto 3 pc's in my home but wondering if its worth as it seemed to take just as much time with my one pc.....Yes it depends on cpu and memory ...both my machine are dual core 2.6 ghz w/2 gigs of ram each. I guess i was expecting more out of rendercow ...? From what i could see my local machine did 3 times more frames than the other pc.
just curious..
Thread: Animating 2 Poser figures at once in Vue. | Forum: Vue
Well I guess nobody has run into this issue before. I must be the first.....
After some tests here is what i have discovered although I don't have an answer.
I still can't seem to import two different animations from poser into Vue 6 and have them both animated in the same scene. I can create a single animation, import into Vue and then make multiply copies of that animation object while I'm in Vue.But I don't want multply copies of the same thing ...
I finally came up with a possible solution but for some reason I don't think its the right one although it worked for me. I created an animation in poser using two figures walking along two seperate walk paths. then I imported that whole scene with both poser figures into Vue and it seemed to work just fine. Actaully i had three separate figures in the animation. the third one was not walking. Again everything work fine.
What appears to happen when importing separate animations in Vue is the last animation will be animated in Vue but any prior animations loose their...animation. Strange. I'm sure there must be something I need to select or deselect or whatever to get all animations imported into Vue to work...who knows. If you know please let me know.

I knew I came to the right place ..... YES when I created the virtual roman domus I was determined to create as much original content (my own textures and models) as possible. I did use a few purchased items. I created my own textures and copied public domain images edited by me to make something unique. I was very aware to create something I could also use commercially. I used a few freebies. None of which I can use commercially.
Thanks to you people!! I'm able to make a more informed descision.

Thanks, yes I'm trying to be fair. I mean I've been doing 3D work for a long time and it's exciting to have a museum ask for my work. That alone is a huge compliment. I am actually finishing up another commission job for a student in the UK. It's a fairly accurate reconstruction of the Roman Fort and bridge at Hadrian's Wall in Newcastle, England. I really did the job for the fun of it, but he offered to pay. I grossly underestimated the time and money, But to be honest I love doing it. The money is really the gravy. I hope to show the project "Pons Aelius" very soon.
Of course, doing 3D reconstructions of ancient cultures and "stuff" would be a dream job.

That's some good advice and points thank you. It happens that they only want the license to use my work/files. They are offering money and requested a "fee" as to how much I should charge them. So essentially they are paying for the rights to use while I retain all copyrights.
I don't want to soak them but then again I don't want to come in way low either. So I think Patorak's equation appears to be a very good starting point if not a good rate to charge.
I made the project really for my own use but yes it would be nice to get a little cash for my efforts. Distribution rights...? That's something to think about. As far as I know this exhibit will be shown only in the museum, however also on their website. So I have some things to consider.... Thank You!!

Quote - That way of doing it i knew "teragen" allready ... i was wondering if someone knew a way of doing it in vue..
Chris
Ummm I was talking about doing it in VUE
Thread: Making waves | Forum: Vue
Perfect! Thanks so much. I'll give it a try.
Barcode you could make a wave terrain simply by using photoshop or other making blurry vertical or horizontal rows. Create using black and white or shades of gray and save. Use that pic and import it into your terrain editor in vue....

I believe and do correct me if i am wrong here, in no way did Daz3d.com state those images they used on that video to be theirs. Infact the only things they claimed to be theirs was bryce,Daz Studio and the video itself.
Common sense here...they didn't state it was theirs (our images) but by leaving out the credits of the images that the video contained certainly did not give acknowledgment to anybody else but daz.
Christ ! I must be really out of line here huh?
10 years of Poser and Bryce ... I'll just crawl back under that rock where I came from. Sorry I brought it up in the first place.
Thanks burpee for your help :)

Quote - Look at the large picture: If a DAZ video of our sample images begins to circulate through the world, the world will get to know DAZ better, and curiosity will bring more people to DAZ. There has been no harm done, only benefit. I just can't see one gram of harm done. Now if Daz were to sell our images for 1million dollars a pop(or whatever) and took all the profit, then that's a whole 'nother story.
Really now...So if I took any of your images and posted it on the web and called it my own, it's ok? Going by your logic it's ok as long as I don't profit from it.
Or how about this. I took a bunch of images from artists here, made a video, set it to music, called it Bryce 6, stuck it on YOUTUBE.com AND called it my own, there would be no harm in that? As long as I don't profit from it right?
The fact of the matter is people saw the video probably went to daz3d and bought Bryce. Great...Daz profits and not a single credit to the artists who worked hard on their images. Daz already makes a pretty good penny. I've spent hundreds of hard earned dollars at daz. It simply would have been nice to get a bit of credit.

I was never paid, never compensated in any way. And I may be wrong but only the top ranked monthly images get 25 bucks.

That would be fine AgentSmith. I mean is it really to much to ask for a little credit? As mentioned I just wanted to see how other Brycers felt about it. I know they all work hard on their images as well.
