I totally agree, this is a must-have :)

I created a couple of objects that I need to render along with the reference photo. But only the objects are rendering. How do I do to get the photo to render too?

I ended up rotating the video with VSE Transform Tools

Thank you Lobo3433. I did find how to render to video.

Now I just need to find out how to rotate the video 45 degrees. That control has been moved to a different location.
