Schlabber, Thank you, I already have many of your poses, which I think are great. Please let us know when the English version is ready, I'm hoping it will be a Christmas present for us! Dogsbody
Thread: Too many girls? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well thanks for all your input. A lot of points covered there, and plenty to take away and think about. I think my original motive was to emphasise the 'Aaaaarrrgh, that's another $200 to cloth each character'. Certainly not to imply that folk shouldn't keep on producing new characters. FWIW, I think that since V3 was introduced, the character that has intrigued me most has been the MayaDoll, who had a storming start but seems to have tailed off recently. I still don't think the market can maintain such a breadth of characters unless someone can start offering morphs/magnets to fit current clothing to new figures. Oh, and as for the male figures, I'll leave that for someone else to pick up on - I found M2 and his clothing pretty well good enough for most of the scenarios that I need. Thank you all Dogsbody
Thread: Do you think that an image created with vue d'esprit and poser is art? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just because it isn't an original question doesn't mean it shouldn't be asked again. Although, to be honest, I've read so much cr@p about what constitutes and doesn't constitute art that if I cared what anyone else thought I'd probably have shot myself by now. Having been blessed with an inability to draw (although I'd love to be able), I do use Poser to imitate/lampoon/enhance/distort 'art' that I've seen others perform. Sometimes I even use it to try out stuff I've thought of all by myself. Interestingly, there was something on the TV last night mentioning an 'in' artform in the early 20th century known as 'readymade', in which the 'artist' made a piece out of commonly available materials. Hey, that isn't radical, our schoolkids routinely rip up magazines or chocolate wrappers to make collages and stuff. Not what most Poserhaters would call art (unless they have school aged kids, of course, in which case substitute 'Genius' for 'Dumbass'). But the level of substitution in 'readymade' was slightly more robust. The example quoted on the program was 'a bicycle wheel in conjunction with a kitchen chair'. My, how exciting can we get? This art form was not a minor abberation, it was a major art movement. So I guess the best way of defining 'art' is to do what makes YOU feel good, or fulfilled, or disturbed, or whatever it is that makes you want to do what you do. I wouldn't consider displaying my soiled underwear or a list of all of my lovers 'art', but it made someone rich and famous. And the person responsible for those displays didn't give a sh!t about what anyone else thought about their work. Nope, Poser, Bryce, Vue, ripped up newspaper, photos, chairs, bicycle wheels, scrapyards, box of pastels, broken pencil and an envelope - the art is in the brain, in the communication

Well you learn something every day! Bobbie, I had to reinstall my printer a couple of days back, but it wasn't attached to my 3D machine (I print across the network if necessary). Still, I deleted the driver, reinstalled the (network) printer and hey-presto, everything's hunkey dorey again. Thanks for the advice, I'd never have worked that one out in a thousand years! Dogsbody

Well I can still run my other 3d apps if necessary (I've been using TS5.2 all week). The only other apps I have on it are Poser or TS related such as Luuv, TheTailor,UVMapper etc. If I can't find another solution then yes, I'll have to resort to a total rebuild, but I'd still like to know what's happening, cos I don't want to do this every few month

OK, if she's that unimpressed with him, why is she tickling his furry dice with her finger?

Britain doesn't have an armed Police force? Oh really? Tell that to the West Midlands constabulary! Although it is true that they don't carry firearms as a matter of course. Tell the truth, I feel sorry for the poor sods having to stroll around wearing stab vests and utility belts, makes Batman look naked. Ernyoka, we had a bad mail strike here a couple of weeks back, it seems to me that international mail has been especially badly disrupted, I'm still waiting for a CD from PhilC that he mailed weeks ago. If you want to drop me a line with a message and address, I can stick it in the post first class tomorrow, that should get to the destination Friday. Or I could mail it 'recorded delivery', which means it has to be signed for. It does take a while to track tho. If someone is going to phone the local nick, let's get organised so that everyone doesn't do it :) I'm open to IM's if you need my help Dogsbody

Hi Erlik, I'm sure I've seen some about, firstly have you tried the Poser forum here, or alternatively you could work your way through some Poser link sites? If you use Google.com and try a string of 'curious poser link' then you should latch onto something Dogsbody

Well bear in mind that FG was a 'porn' movie in the softest variety, almost more 'Benny Hill meets Crash Corrigan'. So the tongue is almost a creature in it's own right, and the target is obvious - EM or IM me if you want to see the basic scene, needs a lot of work on the main setting and stuff, but a lot of ite's there. Thanks for your observations and help, it's appreciated. Cheers Dogsbody

Yes, I thought it might come down to that (transmapping), but was looking for the easy way out. That's what I've done, using the V3 morphing shirt - results attached. It's not finished, but there's enough there to stick in my 'characters' library for tweaking another day (the shirt should hang away from the body a lot more instead of clinging, and PhilC's boots aren't quite the same as the originals. I'm pretty pleased with the skirt/briefs (could that transmogrify into 'snickers' in English?), using D71's bikini briefs and Insomniaworks freebie skirt, remapped with UVMapper and with a bit of flirting with PSP7 to create a suitable transmap.Ta for your help, fun little project. Now I've got to source a tongue for the scene near the end where Dale is locked in a dungeon with the mad doctor and his weirdy monsters. Oh, and start work on Flesh's uniform.

Hauksdottir (lovely name, presume some Icelandic influence?) - a book that a friends mother gave me some (mumble mumble) years ago explained that the male and female triangle grow in opposite directions (which is very true if you care to research, although a bit tacky). So if lint collects in the navel in males, where does it collect in females? Please don't even attempt to respond to that!!!! Ernyoka (I'll have to find out your real name one day, Ernyoka and Trrekkiegrl aren't easy to type at this time of night). Well, if you'd had your digicam at the ready at that time then you wouldn't need to ask us all :) Anyhow, let me now if I can help. Dogsbody
Thread: Confused about P5 Runtimes, Libraries, the Download Folder | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You could use Pboost as a library manager - it dynamically swaps directories in order to get over Poser restrictions. I use it if I'm using Poser4 (unusual these days but..) Under P5, you can define your own structure, but it takes a bit of work to maintain it. For instance, under 'Figures' and 'Poses' in the P5 menu structure, I have different folders for V2/V3/M2 whatever, those are subdivided into 'Real' characters, Clothing, Character MATS, clothing MATS etc. (hope this is making sense, if not IM me) The problem comes when you buy something new and it unzips into the standard structure. You can ignore the geoms and textures, but the Characters and Poses will need to be moved from runtimeposes (e.g) to runtimeposesV3 Char Mats (or whatever you choose to call it). It's a minor annoyance, but makes searching the Poser structures one hell of a lot easier. The exception is V3 injections, and I suppose that M3 will be the same. Some commercial pose files rely on the injections being in a standard directory structure, (and bear in mind that V3 has some 28 injection libraries). If you move those libraries then the poses can't keep up. The only solutions are to bulk edit the poses to replace the library references, or keep the original library references (which makes your P5 pose interface very cluttered), or if (like me) you find that you don't use those particular poses very often, when you get the first mismatch reported in Poser you can minimize and do a bulk copy of the INJ files to where the pose expects them, then delete them later so they don't clutter up the interface. Messy I know, but far quicker than answering 7 billion "I can't find xxxxx" dialogues If enough folk are interested, I'll write a tut for this, but really it's just common sense Dogsbody

Blimey, that's not 'hairy', that's a walking rug :) I'd be happy to help, but I'm not quite in the same league as your gentleman friend above. Errr, so why is my NDP 'Dogsbody;? (scratches head)
