I too have been having crashes while using Poser Pro '10. I was away from it for a few weeks & then started using it. This week, twice in one session computer crashed & restarted itself.
It is the first problem I have had since I got PP2010 when it was first released.

I need to do more experimenting. But, I believe the problem is with the size of the scene. I was getting well over 400,000 KBs. Need to do more experiments.
I thought the sky was the limit on an i7, 6 gig, 64b machine. I guess not.

Problem solved - it was the video card drivers. Should have been the first thing I did after computer build.
Updated Nvidia drivers and everything is wonderful. Everything looks right and movement is smooth as silk.
BTW, core i7 chip + 6 gigs gives awesome performance. The i7 930 is $200 - bit pricey, but nice.

I appreciate all the suggestions. Question:
I have IE 8 on that machine. Any chance that IE 7 would be better??
Any possibility that an upgrade to Windows 7 would help??
As if I didn't have enough problems.................
After a 1.5 weeks, still no library. Going back & forth with SM trying various fixes. In the process of updating Vista, one of the recommended downloads was Realtek something or other. I did, now I can't get that pc online - some kind of Realtek driver problem..... I am dying here!!!

I had exactly the same problem which went from that anoyance to a nightmare. Now I have no library. Happened out-of-the-blue. This is a powerful pc [corei7] which is almost never put online - and then only for occasional windows updates. No firewall or antivirus other Vista.
I have been working with SM tech support and we must have traded at least 30 emails over the past week. I have tried virtually everything & still no library. Tech support has been very responsive, but no solution.
Been booting in Diagnostic mode & turning off everything that comes with start up. Been dumping all kinds of files & forwarding them. Nothing. Been learning quite a few things about Vista, but no results.
I fear the next thing is they will ask me is to reload the OS. Uggh. Still have a few things to try.

Regarding the missing library........... I never installed any security (firewall or antivirus) on that pc because it it almost always offline. Is there a firewall that is part of Vista?? Should I disable it.
Regarding the underlying problem, SM has been quite responsive. But alas, no fix yet.
Made IE my default, installed latest Flash to IE. Upgraded IE to ver 8. Used MSConfig to disable all non-MS apps.
I am just guessing a reload of P8 is next. Uggh.

Nothing seems to be helping. I opened that Xml page while P8 was was open. No luck. Was I supposed to do something with that page or just open it???
There is no firewall or antivirus as I keep it off line except for updates.
SM had me run an MSConfig routine - no help.
I am in their hands now.
