Same experience here, first they were free, then it was $5.00. Perhaps in todays economy free has taken on a new meaning. On the other hand, you get what you pay for.

It just appears to me that the light extends deeper into the city, it just seems as though more light is being represented, but it could just be me.

ICM, are your render settings the same on these renders? The lighting looks different on both RTD renders, or does RTD change the final appearance? If you get the picture the way you want it and RTD changes your lighting...

Not a mirror image, but then that wasn't what I was after.
Thread: Any help with selecting a new computer? | Forum: Bryce
I primarily use my computers for my art and the internet. I gave up on PC (Windows) 3 years ago after losing countless renders and sometimes entire files to Windows inability to perform to my expectations, or should I say CRASH. I have a Mac G5 and an Intel Macbook. Both perform very well and I can render in Bryce, create in Vue, listen to iTunes and surf the net all at the same time with no noticeable loss of performance. I am not a gamer, and Mac lags in that category. I guess you just have to consider what your main use will be and go in that direction. BTW, OSX is very simple to learn, so don't let that scare you off.

In all honesty, I have not noticed much difference, it is usually your textures and lighting that dictate render times. Simple scene=fast render, complex scene=long, merciless render. Whatever you do, don't add volumetric lights, soft shadows, or complex textures to your scene, or, God forbid, HDR lighting!

I run 6.1 on 2 Macs, I have priority on my Intel Macbook, but not on my older G5. Could it have something to do with the processor?
Thread: Help with polygon count. | Forum: Bryce
20604140 polys. Unfortunately I do not have an image editing program that supports layers, but as I have read your post I have decided to save the image in several files and merge them in Bryce after I complete each section. Thank you all for your input.

What are your texture settings?Has Bryce changed diffusion to "0" or changed any other settings upon import? When you exported, did all the texture maps export?

Clarify, the original mesh was imported into Bryce as a 3DS file, was it textured already when you imported it originally?
