Hi Joe,
for full or partial body morphes I use Mudbox.
The advantage of Mudbox is, that apart from morphs, you can subdivide your Figure/Geometry make all the changes that you might like and render out Displacement or Alphamaps -or just paint Bump-, Diffuse- and Secular maps directly on you model.
For Modeling and UV-unwraping you could use 3ds Max, or better Maya.
If you are looking for all of the things that I have mentioned above, but for free and very powerfull, than I would take Blender in consideration.
Unfortunately Blender, like all the above named Software has a steep learning curve. -on the other side there are tons of tutorials about in yourtube :-)
UV-Mapper and it's pro version are still downloadable and they still work.
But this of cause depends on your System..
