Thanks to those of you who sent me messages about this thread. Forgive me for dropping in late and not taking the time to read the entire thing. I have already had the gist of it several times in the mail and elsewhere

First of all I DID NOT copy the FF design, the outfit may be similar the outfit design was influenced by the very cool FF outfit BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME. I regret now ONLY ONE THING and that is that I intentionally textured the outfit to make people think of the FF outfit. It was a marketing decision, and as it turned not a good one.

I cannot decide whether to be flattered that my presentaion was (if misguided) so effective to have caused such a ruckus or insulted to think that people believe me so completely devoid of integrity and talent (not to mention intelligence) that I have no recourse but to rip off someone elses material

Daz and I and have discussed the issue and made changes to the outfit based on this discussion. I do not believe that I have violated anyone's copyright the outfit IS different. Daz apparantly agrees with me and the changes that are being made now are a direct response to the community.

So yes they are listening, yes we are doing something about it.

What a good Idea! I added me too... couldn't decide which of my homes to add. But Canada looked a little lonely so I am there now.

I have recently posted messages elsewhere about the need to not take for granted the artists who create stuff, not only for profit, but also for free. It is the lack of courtesy all around, on both sides of this equation that makes for hard feelings and ultimately becomes the final straw for many talented people, who thru lack of appreciation, throw in the towel! I have heard repeatedly how the quality and quantity of "free stuff" has been dropping off. Are you really surprized? If customers and merchants cannot be courteous to one another, how do you think people who slave away to create, host and package stuff for free feel when they get no recognition. I am a vendor and I used to send messages to my customers, inviting comment, critique. Thanking them and asking them to share their renders, thoughts whatever... with me. I have recieved one response. ONE. In a year one response. So I don't personally contact customers anymore. In the readme document of every product I sell or provide as a free item there is an invitation to the buyer to contact me with comments, critiques whatever... so far nothing. If my stuff is so bad someone should tell me. It is feedback that encourages us to go on, inspires us to new heights. We do not live in a vacumm after all.

I do apologise to everyone for posting such a large image. I forget sometimes that what looks small to me is very large to other people... (I have a 17" monitor, but I use the highest resolution I can, 1280 x 1024) I also tend to forget image weight (kb) as most of my images are created for print, again I apologise. I certainly did not intend to spawn a contraversy here. I just got very excited over what was to me perhaps my first true Poser success. I do thank everyone for their generous comments, but cannot stress enough, this is not the reason I post images, here or anywhere. I am learning, I want to learn more, the comments I do recieve help me to be better... by showing me my strengths and weaknesses. thank you

Thank you Marcabros, I am pleased that you enjoyed my work so much. It makes all of that gnashing of teeth, rending of hair, crashing of PC worthwhile. Out of hundreds of renders there are perhaps 2 that are worth the paper to print them.

I couldn't have done it without communities like this one. Without people like you who did comment, for better or worse.

I joined this community just over a year ago, when I first started to use 3dapps. Some of my 2d work did make the "Hot Lists" but really it is not important, really it is not. I am not here to win popularity contests, I am here to learn.

It is very likely that I would have thrown in the towel without the comments, tips and occassionally brutal critiques that I received in the galleries here and in other communities. Learning to use Poser has been one of the most brutal learning curves I have ever faced! Learning Rhino was easier... Bryce was a walk in the park, but Poser was a real nightmare.

An art teacher told me once that if even one person is affected by an artwork, regardless of the reaction, be it joy, anger, nostalgia, even disgust, then it is a success! If that person sees beyond his emotion into the artist's soul, then it is a great work of art.
