If you saved your install of Poser 11, you can reinstall it.
Please use a different directory than you have Poser 12 in.
Poser 12 uses Python 3 NONE of the Poser 11 scripts will work in Poser 12 because they are Python 2.
Yes, most of the problems I've had with 12 I created myself, if you try to use one of your poser 10/poser 11 pythons, Poser 12 will eat it alive....Poser 12 has some growing up to do and so do the people trying to use it.....lol

What kind of video card and is the video card what they call "integrated"..If the computer is a name brand please give name brand and model number and let us know if it is stock. Also tell us the model(s) you are using , a screen shot would be nice. Also do you have another version of poser on your computer? A reinstall sounds like a good idea to try, but just to wet your appetite as to what can be done in poser 2012 pro....

I gave up trying to get poser 10 to work correctly, as a 32 bit program it will only recognize a small amount of ram and a model, a back ground and floor of some sort is about all it can handle... Now in days past us poser users had to put up with render times of 24 hours or more for a 640x480 render which came out all cartoon looking...I have tried to goad Smith Micro into explaining why poser 10 is the way it is.. They just ignore me... I have asked them for advice on what kind of performance to expect from poser 10 and asked how to get it....no answer forth coming. Now if you have down loaded the update and you have installed it. then you need to share with me information about your computer for me to hopefully help you more.. As for preferences, they are set using preferences under edit... There are things you can do to help performance but I would need a lot more information... My suggestion though is look for a used copy of poser 2012 pro on Ebay, you can usually get it for about what you paid for poser 10....Best idea for preferences is open poser 10 set your preferences and then exit before doing any work at all, this saves your preferences....Hope I am of some help
Thread: Not new to Poser but to Poser 11 Pro-- need help... | Forum: New Poser Users Help
OKay I might be of some help as far as the black renders go. It happens to ma a lot. If your camera is to low or you have something too close to the lens you get either a black or white screen, depending on what your preferences are set....Now I have a problem that might be relate to that other problem you seem to be having. See I am disabled and my fingers make involuntary movements, so I have strange things pop up all the time. Now I would check out what you are talking about, but I am in the middle of a render. To get to a possible answer for you is that yes poser pro 11 does react differently then earlier versions. If you hold the click to long and move too fast you will actually move your actor or prop to another place in your library. right click on the thumb nail and it will ask you if you want to move the selected item... I hope that comes close to answering your question....
Thread: Clothing Morphs | Forum: New Poser Users Help
I'd like to know the answer to that question myself. I have successfully figured out how to resize an actor and clothes, but I run into the same problem with morphs all the time. Might try experimenting myself again as I just got the idea to save the pose and morphs and then try applying the pose and morphs to the clothes. Course Poser 10 has something called a "Fitting" room...might check that out too. Maybe I should experiment along with you, I have not even tried the fitting room yet....
Good to see M2 Still being used....
Thread: What is a Power Loader? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Well I am hoping some one smarter then me will step in and correct me if I am in error. See I bought two Micheal4's rather I bought one and then DAZ gave him to me as part of a promotion, but when I tried to give him away I found out about the ET phone home part and the fact you do not really "own" anything you buy from Daz. You are buying to right to limited usage by yourself and no one else. Same way with their programing. I own, bought and paid for several versions of some of their programs and you can't sell your earlier versions as you cannot transfer ownership....Course This might have changed in recent years....
Thread: Victoria 4 and Victoria 4 Elite | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Oh come on guys, I know there is more to it then that...lol But hbore you are very correct to say what you did. In fact there are indeed several versions of V4. there is V4.1, V4.2 to name but a few, I should know I have them all......
Thread: What is a Power Loader? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
It also has an "ET" Phone home part to it. , which is a very smart marketing move for them and bad news for software thieves as a poser user the only part that works is the ET phone home part far as I have been able to figure out, I can verify the phone home part as for any other function it may have in poser I have no real knowledge. It may actually have real function in poser 12 pro or newer...
Thread: How to recolor a material layer? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
I am not big on terminology either so here goes. There are a great many different ways to change a color of a material, starting with taking the texture map into your Photoshop program and modifying it in there. click on the diffuse color box and add a color value or press on the alt key and change the color in that color picker section. You can add tint by changing the color in the specular box, I say tint as this is used for highlighting, but it can change tint You can add a math function to the diffuse color such as my favorite "Blend" You can add a whole new color by using the Alternate diffuse box You can use both refract and reflect to change color, remember changes there will be light sensitive, for those of you that have read the manual and the advise not to do this , forget them directions, this is serious play time here so play...lol I do it all the time.. You can add in a translucency color and value, results can be unpredictable and fun. You can add subsurface scattering and then change the color values. You can do all kinds of crazy things I like to have lots of variations in my colors I have made all kinds of different gradients in my photoshop program to include just simple gray scales gradients to add to your colors...Sky is the limit... One more thing, you can change the color of your lighting too..
The point is this is just a few of the ways to modify color in the material room, Set the manual aside and have some fun playing with the entire spectrum of boxes and colors and values....nothing is written in stone...It's totally your sand box and you are in charge of the shovel and it's your pail so...play!!!! You can take full credit for any happy accidents or new ways of doing things. Keep one thing in mind, everything you do in the material room affects your render time, get too clever in the material room and you can increase you render time dramatically....It can even get you kicked out of poser so save before you render...

I have not given up on the mill dog, while true it's close up days are just about gone, I keep fighting to use them just one more time. Yes those eyes, the jaw, the paws all need major over hauls...But who can resist wanting to use them just one more time....

I forgot to add a bit of displacement to the nose to make it equal out, I am looking forward to playing around with your work...
Thread: Genesis 3 Versus V4 WM | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use poser, I am heavily invested in V4, I don't do cheese cake shots, my renders are scenes and they tell a story. There would have to be a real reason for me to do things differently, Like the difference between day and night...There is no day and night difference between Genesis any thing and the version 4 figures, just more degree of difficulty in using them and yet another heavy investment of money...I am not making porn films so why would I really need such realism and cost. Yes I like the renders I see being done using the Genesis figures, but my renders are seen by most as being top notch already and I have yet to do my best work. A soon as I see a real need to use Genesis figures and or Daz Studio I will jump in, but until I get a professional job that can make Genesis worth having, I'll pass. [edited]
