Thanks for the comments guys!
Terrymcg: Thanks, no problem. Part of the confusion was when people refer to my "work", they're usually referring to my characters. I see what you're saying now and agree.

Wow, it's a good thing I noticed this thread earlier.
Terrymcg: My stuff is based more on photoshop? Here's some examples of my raw render from multiple angles. And people from the DAZ forum can probably recall me posting other examples last year.

I spent years learning to model, texture and refine my workflow. My chararacters often take monthes. I'll be damned if someone is going to try and minimize that out of ignorance.

momodot: I used to shape the mesh in lightwave with front and side images in the background. That would take forever to set up though, so now I just model freehand. I gather up photos of the person's head from every angle possible and look at that as I shape in lightwave.
I work on the same morph all the way through, the blending method wouldn't hold any advantages for me.
I usually start with a checklist of the person's features like if they have flaring nostrils or small upper eyelids, and I methodically add those before I even move on to proportions.

momodot: No, I shape my morphs in Lightwave and do my textures in photoshop. Deecey has some great FaceGen work in her gallery.

Not to be sensitive, but usually when there's a accusation of photoshopping a celeb's head into a render it's aimed at me. That's why I periodically include raw renders from different angles with my gallery posts.
In fact, I recognize SoulTaker's name because he accused me years ago, I showed him the proof and he apolegized. So, I know this can't be about me.
Anywho, I return you to your thread.

Thanks for the help samcopcutt!
Since yesterday, DAZ seems back to normal for me, so maybe if you just wait it out a fews days it will fix itself.
Thread: can anyone get into daz? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've got the same problem as you samcopcutt, it's been that way for about 3 days. When i've been able to load up the daz forums, I haven't seen any posts about it so I assume we're in the minority.
It sucks! My free dino is going to expire before I can download it.
Thread: Ratings suddenly turned on? | Forum: Community Center
The ratings are now fixed, but I noticed my comments per image average has dropped. It was at least 45 yesterday and now it's 44.8. I think that amounts to about 20 missing comments. Did the script do this?

mathman, I hadn't heard of her before, she's got a very unique look. It's better though if I'm really familiar with the subject before I start a character.
Speaking of French language films, I plan on doing a Virginie Ledoyen or Laetitia Casta eventually.

Hey! I like the direction this thread took :-) Thanks everybody!
That audrey hepburn character is still in the really early stages. I pretty much like the morph but i'm going to completely redo the texture.
My salma hayek character is in limbo. I think I actually made it worse with my last revision I posted, so i've been too bummed to work on it :-)

Not quite Alan yet, but if you stuck a helmet on him and dangled a cigarette from his lips, he'd look perfect in a 40's war movie :-)

Wow, those are just amazing. I recognized everyone right off, except for Gillian Anderson, but then I didn't watch many X-Files. I'm definitely jealous, it would take me a year to do that many likenesses in lightwave.
vincebagna: Beautiful character, I'm not much of a Lucy Liu fan though, so I can't comment on the accuracy.
Redfern: I somehow missed your post. Great job on Tom Baker, much better than my attempt :-).

I actually create my morphs in lightwave using the V3 head, but i'm curious about facegen too. I was under the impression that it only worked on the low poly facegen mesh, how does this customizer work?
