I've added all my external Runtimes to Poser Pro with no trouble at all. All my content is displayed in the same way as it ever was in P7.
Silly question but you have added your external Runtimes from within Poser by clicking the + (add Runtime) at the bottom of the runtime sidebar?

Lyrra's set of V4 magnets has a free add on that includes Alice plus a couple of other characters. I believe AS are trying to get her to update the magnets to Alice 2.0 (not yet released)
If used along with the Python scripts from Netherwork's magnet set you can import the fit as a morph into clothes and save as a new CR2. This gives better results than using XD to convert from V4 to Alice imo plus no need to restore any V4 morphs in the clothes.

One reason being that at a high resolution textures are rendered in a lot more detail. I find that even when reduced they are sharper and more defined than they would be if rendered directly at at whatever resolution.

To an extent, but a picture rendered at 3000 pixels square and then reduced to 1500 will still be sharper/hold more detail than a picture rendered at 1500 to begin with.

I always render at at least twice the pixel resolution that I want the finished piece to be (meaning I usually render at 3000-4000 pixels square), then save as psd for postwork in photoshop as that also saves the alpha channel. Most post work is done at a magnification of x2 and often x4 if what I need to do is particularly fiddly.
