To be honest our main concern is still PoserPros and will be until we close the doors. We'll deal with whatever happens next after that.
Thread: What's the deal with Artzone Marketplace? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I wasn't going to enter into this but I do have to point out that even after finalising the TOS into something more concrete than a bunch of ill defined concepts the site had been running under even when I came on board as a member of staff... nothing much changed in how we ran the site.
The formalised TOS was the idea of the PP staff (due to problems we were having with some newer members and SPAMmers) and then we informed Daz once we had instigated it ... not the other way round. So the assertion that the Admins and mods would agree we were influenced by Daz policies is a little presumptuous. I don't think we'd agree at all. We were influenced by the needs of PoserPros.
As far as I'm concerned, the site (and the Coop) went on as it always did without the need to change the TOS again. (Half the time I had no idea what the hell you guys were going on about anyway - especially the politcal stuff.)
Thanks for that link Khai. I haven't read that thread in a while. Which reminds me - IB owes me $20.

Quote - > Quote - Do the products on the Artzone Marketplace have to be exclusive to Artzone and DAZ?Â
Unconfirmed word behind the scenes is artists have to give them first exclusive right to accept or reject anything they make, though this may be mistaken.
Its never been a secret that items in the Daz store (and now the ArtZone Marketplace) have to be exclusive with them. No one is forcing any merchant to give Daz first right of refusal. Merchants are still free to broker other items where they would like.Â

Know whats sad? I thought of that scene while I was modelling it and couldn't get the damn song out of my head for days.
Thread: Do You Need To Pull obj Data Out Of Figure Files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of the main reasons we (PP) request external geometries for commercial sets is to protect you, the creator.
With un-parented props - if a third party does a texture expansion set for them then they have to have textured pp2 files (pz2 files only work on parented props I think - not sure about later versions of Poser). If your geometry is external then whomever buys the texture set has to have your original set to use them. However if the geometry is not external and in the actual pp2 file itself then the textured pp2 files will also have to contain the obj data which would mean no one would have to buy your set.
Thread: semi OT - Kangaroo, Wallaby | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bit too gamey for my liking. And it doesn't help that when I eat kangaroo all I can here is the theme to "Skippy" going through my head. ;)
Thread: semi OT - Kangaroo, Wallaby | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yup - wallabies are much smaller - most of them would only stand as high as a grown man's knee. However kangaroo's are way taller. Some species of kangaroo (and there are several) can be as tall as a full grown man.
We get them across the road from our house. :)

No worries Kalon - I never saw this as an axe grinding thread. I see threads like this as a chance to improve things.
Just to verify that PP is not a one man show. There are two other Admins (Lobo75 and SilverElf) with their own duties plus forum moderators each with their own area of expertise. I couldn't do this with out them. And while Daz do have a very hands off approach with the site, ultimely I believe that any failings of the site fall on my shoulders alone and I take full responsibility.Â
Thread: What's the deal with PoserPros? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Xena pointed this thread out and while I didn't want to post, I figured I better clear up some things.
Its true that we restricted membership to manual approvals now because we were being hit pretty hard by some SPAMmers - both human and bot. And while we try to get them approved everyday, sometimes we get behind (we still get hit by bogus registrations and have to check each one individually to make sure that we are not stopping someone legitimate from registering).
If anyone has ever wanted to register and wanted the approval speeded up all they have to do is write to the storeadmin email address and we will go in and do it manually. The same goes if you ever want anything or need help with something - I mean hell, you can always write to me at my private email address (guarie at iinet dot net dot au).
As for site updates being slack in the past - its true. There was a while there when I was not getting the front page updated every week (at one stage I think it took a month). But as Xena said, I have had some personal issues and it has made it difficult at times to be online. I've never made it known publically what has been going on as I do not want sympathy or want to use whats going on as an excuse, and I'm not about to go into it here. But if you had been watching or visiting the site in the last couple of months you would know that the front page has been getting updated weekly, the newsletter is going out weekly again and we've introduced a few interactions with members (Meet the Merchants, site polls etc) which have proved to be really popular. I don't think we have lost our spark at all.
I may not be online on the site for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week but I am there for at least 8 - 12 hours, 6 days a week when I can (even I need some time away from my PC). So if you need anything - just ask.
Guarie
Ps - Kalypso - I did try and get that problem sorted for you but never got it resolved by the Daz techs. I was very much motivated but there is only so much I can do when it is a technical problem beyond my reach. I'm more than happy to go at it with them again if you would like me to.
