yup. I have 2 computers that i run poser5 on. my own is a p3 1.08 Ghz,256 sdram, riva tnt2 32 mb vid card..it runs well but the one I use at the office is P4 2.2 Ghz, 512 DDR ram, 64mb nvdia geforce Vid Card.it's definitely faster. I can render images with full props, materials settings plus the option of turning on quite a few reflections settings to the max! I rendered one of my images which was larger than 800X600 and it took only less than 5 minutes at 300dpi quality firefly engine renderer.. It's definitely all about the extra ram. and you should be running it on XP pro. there's no other choice. just imagine after 4 hours of rendering and your 96% complete with your render then it happens...your system freezes...windows 98se is good but it doesnt handle memories over 128mb pretty well. you could install apps that will help but still youre using system resources with another background app working while rendering.

odd...from the fragmented message you mentioned ps is telling you...it sounded like it was pertaining to the scratch disks and memory cache. maybe you could put a more detailed info of what is happening. setting the wrong scratch disks shouldnt affect youre colors...maybe you should chech preferences and check out the color profile your using.

NUff...said! tigershark.next be nice and take out the "pro" and be a little more subtle with the hand out. advice and comments are welcome...just drop a line if you see something but please...this place is haven of great artist whose tool is just being born. We definitely have grown and evolved far from the caveman art critique whose piss is a vote of "yuck".

alternate... adjust the pixel sample slider up to 12 then...that'll increase the quality of the render much more.but I would advice that you use the poser 4 engine and just do some postwork on photoshop...it's a lot safer and faster. takes he'll alot of time to render a dynamic hair and full scened, textured, proped image. I tried making a seraphim...6 wings and all, no clothes, tatooed skin tex, a sword...took me 23 hrs...it was only 75% completed then so I just pulled the plug on the %(&%* and used the poser 4 renderer.
