Sure, it's the same thing you get if you use gausian blur maybe. Try adding noise (low setting , uniform) sometimes that will actually smooth out those kind of effects.

Check to see if you have LZW compression selected. It mangles pictures, makes big noisy pixel blocks especially if you save again as a .jpg later. Photoshop has it turned on by default and you have to go turn it off in the save options dialog box.

One of -3- 's fantasy prop packs has a drinking horn and a stine in it. There was a set of runes floating around for awhile, can't remember whose or where but a search under 'runes' should turn them up here or at the PFO.

Couldn't agree more with Sewer Rat's post. My significant other creates software programs and has had programs cracked and on the warez sites before they were even released. After months of work that was a huge drag! Never the less we still feel that a there are positive aspects to the situation. Students and other talented people using a program is one way of showing the majority what can be done with it. It's a good rule of thumb to try to buy the program eventually if you really like it, just so your better programmers don't starve. (Mostly they aren't rich mega corp.s, especially those making plugins.) And no, software companies don't have time to go after individuals with a hacked version of the program. Or even the hackers themselves for the most part. I think we need to just keep emailing the guy who took the models, that's the most likely thing to work. International lawsuits are really tough as is copyright protecting anything virtual.

What's polite got to do with anything? This isn't a tea party it's a bussiness offer, you should expect people to analize your offer and raise objections if they have any. I think all the points made here are valid and the artists are just being practical. Now at least anyone who responds can't say they didn't know what they were getting into and it's better to have things out in the open. I personally would never ever sell exclusive rights to an image for $5-. I'm not saying your cheap I'm saying the offer is too low. (This is in response to post#8 'just plain rude')
Thread: Any Tolkien fans who can help me out? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like the idea a lot and was just thinking that Poser could use a whole series of tolkien chartachters so maybe somone could animate all or some of the story. I do however have one more itsy bitsy comment- the oars don't seem terribly elvish to me. Elves are magical after all, I think I'd show only the sail.

The ultimate dragon site has a free ultimate elf woman who has a similar skirt morph. With a little fussing you can make it work. If you have trouble finding the page email me for the link. Ingrid

I got the error from models at the Wiremonger site. There's a post up here with at least three people saying they are happy with them so I don't think it's that simple. I'm sure we're reffering to the same error. It says " this file contains no 3d facet information, therefore no model was imported." I've also had quite a few that wouldn't import at all. I know there's some escoteric secret about inverting the (?) when importing...

That's why they're called primitives, they are meant as building blocks to create new geometries. Anyone trying to hold a patent on such a basic geometric form would be laughed directly out of court. Geometries like these are generated with simple math. The fact is that software engineers can't even prosecute hackers for stealing entire programs. Don't steal anyone else's livelyhood and you'll be fine. I found some good primatives somewhere on the net, rounded cubes, squares etc... If you email me I'll let you know when I locate the site again. Be encouraged to make new stuff that way, I have been and it's lots of fun.

I haven't opened them in anything but poser. PSP and Photosop will kill animated gifs if opened outside PSP animation window, they're reduced to the first frame. In general if its not a 2d static image don't open it in these programs. Poser help file says DXF doesn't include any UV map info which explains why I can't texture them. (that had been driving me nuts)but I haven't seen any explanation for the 'facet info' thing.
