Okay, I think I've got it now. It seems that external runtimes are automatically added but not automatically selected. This wasn't clear from the help file. I thought it was all automatic. Once I doubleclick and checkmark the runtimes in the upper right panel it seems to work. Thanks for the advice.

I finally broke down and got the Phibians. Nothing says "I Love You" like buying some slimy monsters. Thanks.

Yeah, that's probably the best I'll find. I was hoping for something a little less fetishistic but the price is right. Thanks!

Poser 6 is a good upgrade for the artistically inept. In all the time I owned P4 and the few months I owned P5 before upgrading I could never get my figures to not look cartoonish even with global lighting. With P6 a basic IBL setup produces realistic renders. Plus I find the workflow/options much more intuitive. I've had few problems with bugs and no crashes at all. Overall, a worthwhile upgrade.
Thread: Poser 6 - A disappointment | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In my installation of P6 on W2K, the Cancel button works fine but the ESC key doesn't. Pressing ESC dismisses the Cancel button but the scene keeps rendering till the end. I'm not talking about large, complex scenes hanging and crashing the app. A basic scene with James, the default lights, and tested with Firefly draft/production & P4 renderer all have the same results: the ESC key doesn't cancel.
I not sure if this is a bug or a change in the default behaviour?
Thread: Modelling FBMs for clothing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Jim: The first thing I tried was importing from the Geometry folder but it didn't display the groups. I found out later using an exported model that is was an incorrect setting on my Truespace import filter. Thanks for reminding me. Thanks folks. Doing FBMs this way is a lot less aggravating than using magnets.
Thread: Looking for morph dial grouping solution for Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I hadn't even thought about how I wanted it organized. I was kinda hoping someone had already gone through this process and generated a template with logical groupings (eyes, ears, expressions, etc.)
I'm vaguely aware of blank channels but I've never encountered them.
It sounds like it's just as easy to do it manually if there are no existing templates. Thanks anyway.

Thread: Is there a difference between download and box versions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just bought the Poser 5 download version last night. There are two files, one of which is 'Poser_5_Content_CD'. It's 352MB and I assume it's the same content that ships with the boxed version. I haven't installed it yet to see what it contains.

They've been doing the price testing thing for quite some time but that seems like an awfully large fluctuation. I just checked and it's listed as $139.99 (on the US site). Perhaps it was just a temporary glitch?Thread: Holy Cow this is frustrating... CL must be swamped! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, my preference for Canadian shipping is also USPS Priority delivery. It's cheaper than couriers, reasonably fast, and they deliver to PO boxes. That's good since I can't have things delivered at work and I don't want to take a day off to wait at home. And like ttfn mentioned, the courier pick-up depots are in the middle of nowhere and hard to reach without a car. Blah.
