SR3 is running fine on my machine. Do you have your V3 files located in your old P4 Runtime Folder? If so, the morphs will not inject in P5. I had the same problem until I copied the folder !DAZ from the Poser4RuntimeLibraries over to the same folder in Poser5. Now the morphs inject just fine! JAS

The grainy look of Vue renders is a combination of lower quality render settings, lighting, & shadows. If you are using soft shadows, or a volumetric atmosphere you are going to have to crank up the quality level, other wise you will get that nasty grainy look. Ambient light can also fudge up a good picture as well, as a lot of the default atmospheres have a high ambient light setting. If you select the User Settings and crank up the subrays per pixel to at least 9 and then set the quality to High you will not get that grainy look. Beware of longer render times with these settings as there is a lot of work being done by the processor at this level. I usually render a lower settings until I get what I want, then crank it up on high, then go to bed.

Hi Mike, I have Poser 4 & 5, Bryce 2 Through 5, Mojoworld 1 & 2, and Vue D'esprit 3 & 4. I rarely if ever touch Bryce for anything anymore due to several reasons, but one of them was because of the difficulty in importing Poser models. Now don't get me wrong, I still have Bryce installed on my PC and still play with it, and I am still amazed at what people out there are still doing with the program. (A pox on Corel for not advancing the developement of what was a fine program.) I don't want to start a flame war over Bryce vs. Vue, it is a matter of choice. I tend to like Vue better, there are others who are Brycers, and more power to them! Render on people! I fell in love with Vue D'esprit, especially version 4 which allows direct import of Poser files. They come through flawless almost everytime. Every once in a while I will find some little problem, but not often. I have attached a render from Vue with a imported file of Michael 2 suited up in RunTime DNA's Elric gear. Both he, the pillars and the dragon above are straight imports from Poser with no touch up, and you can see he came through with all his colors intact. Bear in mind that Vue 4 right now only works with Poser 4 and does not support Poser 5 completely. I use Poser 5 to make files to import into Vue 4, but I am using the folders still in the Poser 4, as this is where Vue looks for the geometry files and textures, and it also needs the Poser.exe in the Poser 4 folder to work correctly. So if you really are looking to Poser for creating figures to export to other apps and are on a retricted budget, then you might take a look at Vue 4. (Cinema 4D and 3D Studio Max someday!) I have just now started to try and use Poser 5 for making complete scenes instead of exporting them to another app. I am still fighting with those damn lights. Lighting is the most important and tricky part of any 3D program. If I remember correctly, Bryce wants all the textures for your Poser figure to be in the same folder as the obj file for the figure. I remember copying all the neccesary files to a common folder. Also, you need to select the one of the eyeball geometries on the each of the figure's eyes and make it a glass like texture or the figure will have those damn completely white eyes. JAS

The certficate had not expired, but the domain name did not match the site the certificate had been issued to, at least that is what Netscape indicated. Anyway they have it up and running again, I have just never encountered that little glitch before, so it caused me a slight pause this morning. BTW, thanks to everyone who responded. JAS

They must have corrected the problem. I am no longer getting a pop-up telling me that I there is a non-valid certificate being detected. ????????? JAS

I actually found a way around the issue after psoting this message. I have e-mail DAZ and asked if there is a fix for this as well. What I do is open the Poser 5 scene in Poser 4. It tells you it is a newer file and a pop-up comes up telling you that it can't locate a resource file. Just tell it ok. The scene opens then. I loaded V3 into the scene, injected all of her morphs which only took seconds. Save the scene, then reopened it in Poser 5. It is something of pain, but at least I found a way to make it work. JAS

I haven't had the time to play around as much as I would like due to kids, job, wife etc. First off you cannot link Vue to the new Poser.exe in Poser 5. Vue comes up with a you have an invalid serial number message and instructs you to contact Curious Labs. When I tried to pull in a single figure in, Vue began looking for the obj files, textures etc. in the old Psoer 4 folder. It then asked for the correct location of the files. I did not have enough time to direct it to the correct location but I am will try later this evening when I get home. I simply told it to cease looking for the files. The new hair object file pulled up in the window, but not the human figure. I am hopeful that it will work though. Hopefully the nice folks that make Vue will address the serial number isssue, as direct Poser import is one of this products big selling points. JAS
