Thanks for that information hodad66, and sorry for almost hijacking your thread ;) OK, I can access the forums now as well!!! :) For anyone not able to get in: Being "registered" does not seem to be enough. You need to be a "registered registered user" of at least Vue 4. Registering version 2 and 3 was, at least in my case, not enough. Seems odd to have such forum restrictions, and then not communicate them clearly. I would have expected at least an explanation on trying to access the forums, not a redirection or time-out error. BTW, this problem is not specific to my computer, I've since tried elsewhere as well. But it may be necessary to clear your cookies if you've tried logging in with a dummy account (and perhaps if you have several registered users using the same pc). Otherwise the same time-out problem arises, even with the account that previously worked. Thank you all for your help.

Okay, some more info to clarify: I am a registered user, can log in to my account and can get to the updates. However, I cannot get to the registered user forums. Not when I'm already logged in, and not when I log in right after clicking "Registered User Forums". What I meant by a clean install of Firefox was that it never had been installed before and I did not let it import any bookmarks/history from Opera/IE. So there should not be anything cached to confuse Firefox. I've tried on both XP Pro SP2 with Sygate Personal Firewall (on/off) and 98SE with ZoneAlarm (on/off), and with the firewall turned off in my Draytek router/modem - built-in modem so no way to take that out of the equation. Although it doesn't really make sense that I can log in and then not get to the forums. I should just try it on someone else's pc, and I will if I remember, but it's not that important with these fine forums at Renderosity. :) But I'm open to any suggestions, because I am rather curious to find out what the solution to this problem is...

Well, it doesn't work for me either. And it never has, at least for the last year or so. I've tried several browsers, different computers, tried shutting down both software and hardware firewalls, but no joy. :( Opera, my browser of choice, continuously switches between "request queued for sending to secure.e-onsoftware.com" and "request queued for sending to www.e-onsoftware.com" for at least 6 minutes and then just stops trying. IE repeats this sequence: redirect to not secure - secure - secure - redirect to not secure - secure - secure - ... Firefox - clean install without imported cookies/info - shows the already mentioned redirect limit message. Seems like some misconfiguration on e-on's part, because I never have such problems on any other site. Time to let e-on know through one of those annoying support forms? ;)
