strangely enough i figured out the issue. for some reason the poser scene would import fine..... until i added a specific prop to the scene. this prop somehow corrupted the saved file and vue could not read it. prop gone all good, prop in no good. hmmmm?

okay, loaded a basic poser scene with just v4 figure, nothing else and saved it. fired up vue and it read the poser file and opened it. now i went back into poser and added a texture to the v4 figure as well as some clothing, saved the file again and vue could not read the file. so it appears that vue is having a problem reading a specific mat file when applied to either the v4 figure, or to the clothing itself. i'll tinker some more to narrow it down.
