I guess I'm a little late, but you might want to go to www.cgarchitect.com and look around.

"It's kinda difficult to erase all trace of someone at their request if they continue posting... " Hoping to be a voice of reason here, it seems to me that those who want to be deleted think that the admins aren't cooperating to keep the membership numbers high. But, based on the quote above, I think the trouble is that all of that person's messages in every thread have to be erased before they can be completely removed from the list of members here.
Thread: Is this the new O.T. forum? | Forum: Community Center
"'Discussions'" would have gotten a little more heated, until someone made a joke or somehow derailed the thread. Then everyone would have laughed and the thread would have died. That's what I've seen happen many times in my tenure here. P.S. I'd like to use the nifty new edit feature to add that I also thought pushinfaders was doing a good job at moderating. If anything, he was a bit too nice.

Thread: FYI: OT forum gone... | Forum: Community Center
"Perhaps we're not as surprised this time?" Let me clarify that. Perhaps we're not as surprised this time because this isn't the first time?

2 things: With the opening of the OT forum, the PTB worked very hard to make it more civil. I think they succeeded, but more recently, a few threads got a bit too heated and were locked. "And the yelling isn't nearly as loud this time as it was upon the C&D closure." Perhaps we're not as surprised this time? OK, I"m off to bed now... I've gotten too bitter about something that doesn't carry a lot of weight in my day to day life.

"Many of these statements could have been quoted, nearly verbatim, from the comments at the closing of the old C&D." Yep, and it wasn't long before the "OT" forum was born. Also, the Tavern became very busy in the time between the C&D demise and the OT birth. So, the situation isn't the same now as it was then.
Thread: Gallery changes on the Ranking feature | Forum: Community Center
For those who are un-aware, the ranking system WAS a 1-10 numerical system, but it was recently changed to the verbal rankings. I personally don't care for the current ranking system for the exact reason that Flycatcher stated. I might love an image, but it might still "need work" but I rarely rank images anyway.

You might get a better response in the Community Ideas forum, but I think you're likely going to be told that the "Other Apps" gallery is enough.

This reminds me of my college graduation... really! See, while all of the other colleges in Kent State University (college of nursing, college of education, etc.) got to wear bright, and cheerfully colored tassels with their cap and gown, the college of fine and professional ARTS had BROWN tassels! While this didn't stop me from graduating, I would have much preferred some other color. I'm not complaining though, because the site still works great. I have also changed my colors to what the creator of the logo had in mind, and the color scheme looks acceptable.

Thread: 2003 AOY | Forum: Community Center
What is the difference between art and craftsmanship? Many images here are beautiful but, in the end, they are just pretty pictures. I would consider the authors of those images craftspeople, and not necessarily artists. OTOH, Legume's work, while not always technically brilliant, (I haven't looked at his gallery lately though) is usually thought provoking. That is why I consider him an artist. I consider myself an artist NOT because I can model, or texture, or light something, but because I can (hopefully) design a space or structure to invoke a feeling or thought. I strive for realism in my images because it makes my imaginary place easier for the viewer to accept.(I realize my work here still borders on craftsmanship based on my own definition, but thats because Im an architect. The space/building/set design IS my goal.) Just my $0.02, take it for what it's worth.

I wonder what the guy--who called this an eyesore--would say if a developer came along and asked to buy it so that people could LIVE in it? Great pictures!
