you can do such great things with carrara. Unfortunately, most users have never used the program properly. 3D Paint, Plant editor, Replicator. The whole thing is now many years old and only a few applications don't have it all until today. It's a pity that Daz doesn't develop the program further or at least maintain it.

Selling is not my thing, I just want to have fun designing. If the result also pleases others, I am of course very happy. this is also the case with many artists. When everything is reduced to money, of course, art is no longer important. Basically there are always people who think they can buy anything. It is not so. and above all Carrara is a program that can do a lot more, such as DazStudio, where I have to buy more or less everything and cannot create anything myself. @diomede Gemeni is a clone of the Genesis 8.1 figure. With gemeni you can also use all setups like genesis 8.1 figures in Carrara. Genesis crashes the Carrara program. The figure Gemeni and Harper is available here in Renderosity as a Freestuf

I've read the thread several times trying to understand what exactly is the reason for the post. It is completely normal that there are many technology freaks in forums who only compare their machines and performance. For my part, I think there is another way and look for solutions to achieve my goal. In the end, I want to see a nice picture. It's a shame that Daz neglects the Carrara program so much, but if you think about it, I can even understand it for reasons of sales. Carrara can produce almost everything itself, of course Daz does not sell anything. I think it's a shame that the artists are gradually stopping to show their works. that is ultimately the downfall. Of course, if you have been banned from the forum because someone has felt attacked or whatever that is ultimately completely exaggerated, then you no longer feel like it. But you shouldn't let yourself be guided by negative experiences, on the contrary, there are many positive things. So many people can be helped (like me). I have made a lot of great strides with Carrara lately, through other artists giving advice on how to achieve a goal. don't be discouraged.

I think that if more people really show interest in Carrara, that it will be seen at Daz and the business will say yes, a possibility to earn money. then maybe there will be further development. Ideas and plugins can already be seen in the Daz forums

good idee @ wendyvainity How about we try to document these problems and write down the solutions for everyone.

1. Suggestion we collect everything about Genesis 1, what really works in Carrara, characters and clothing etc. Links for download. Even if it costs money also everything about Michael or Vicky that works with genesis 1. I think Carrara could be made a little more interesting again.

Well, there are a couple of new plugins for Carrara by Philemo that I have not had the time to try in depth, if you are looking for a challenge. https://sourceforge.net/projects/carrara-time-savers/

I know the plugins and also use some of them. So far I can only say these are good additions.

I just wanted to express in the thread that only a few users are here and even fewer use the gallery.

It works out. :) I completely deleted Daz Studio and all tables of contents. Then I reinstalled everything together. so that everything is on one disk and all contents are in one directory. Now I can load the individual parts into Carrara. Updates created subdirectories that Studio can read and use, but Carrara cannot. It was worth it and it worked, thanks for the hint. you also may be better off posting to the Carrara forum on the DAZ3D site I don't so much because I am under a semi ban by their moderation team , everything I post there needs to be approved by them first, if you are new posting there that will also apply but you will after a few posts be granted access, mine was revoked after posting there 11years and spending around 25K ?let's just say I am rather salty about it.

I'm also on the Daz page and post there. I didn't want to ask the question in 2 forums at the same time. I'll post there under khoe maybe you've seen me there too. Don't get angry about others, often it's just envy. but nice when you find other Carrara users.

Since I'm just starting out with characters, I don't have a lot of character and clothes to go with it. If I look for something now, only Genesis 8.1 can be found everywhere. The search functions here and at Daz are unfortunately such that all Genesis versions are always displayed. If there was something about how to find the character and attire to go with it, I wouldn't care what version of the character it is, as long as they work in Carrara. Maybe you can build something here. Character with clothes for Carrara in a list. Just a thought.

Watching with interest. :) Hello headwax this is a big problem in carrara with daz figures + clothes for the figures there are replacements, but this message comes more and more often with the clothes. Regrettably !!! It's a shame that nobody can write a converter. All Genesis versions have converters to version 8.1, but going back to 1 or 2 there is nothing that is surprising. There are almost only things offered in the 8.1 version, so that we can no longer get anything in the long run. All Carrara users have this problem. or have we become so few that it is really not of interest.

it is exactly like that. Everything is OK in Daz and nothing arrives after Carrara. Geometries from the original Genesis 8 figure are presumably used.
