Quote - I think the highest number of entries I've seen, a great challenge.
Can't wait for the next one.
Yep, you can say it loud.
I've joined to win, hoping in a smaller amount of entries than the previous challenges, and look what happened LOL
I'll be trying with the "Moron Olympics", maybe I'll have some more chances and some more luck with that LOL

Quote - the scaleof the character is way out when you compare her to the door on the left...she must be about 7 feet tall. .
Who knows? Maybe she's studying science at Dwarf's University, why not? LOL
Back to the crits.
I've been using Photoshop for about 10 years to a professional level and despite his work is a good work, I must admit that at first look that image seemed to show a bad usage of blurring, expecially concerning both hair's contour and face skin's itself. It seems to be an head which does not belong to that body, or viceversa. "Photomontage", what you call it.
Some minor mistakes like the toes (as already stated by many of you) but for the still, what doesn't convince me is how both head and body melts together.
As for the 3D, I can't spread anything than praises. Good work.

Then you have the bugged version, and may experience crashes in a few different ways.. Don't worry, you still get the nude texture with v4.1, just the default "free" texture with the crappy blue undies and swirly painted hair is added in besides.
So do you suggest me to update to 4.1?

Then there is a good chance you broke some of your content even if you don't realize it now, because many things within different content files refer to file/pathnames that you may have just renamed.
Well, I tried not to rename any of the add-on folders I've installed, at least not the ones which were requested to be kept untouched as specified into their ReadmeS.
If by chance I ever unintentionally broke some path, do you know if there's a way different by the straight uninstalling/reinstalling content to check out and eventually correct the broken paths?
Thanks a lot for your steady assistance Pjz99, it's something anyone should pay for :)

Quote - V4 has had two versions. In the original, she was nude and bald. In the Vicky 4.1 edition, she loads wearing a fuzzy bikini and has an anti-typhus hairdo. I don't think that installing V4.1 can rescue your file (assuming that it was created with basic V4), although...
...V4.1 needs the folders called "DAZ People" in the main Poser directory path, i.e. not in an external runtime. If you installed V4 into the main Poser runtime, so that you can replace V4 with V4.1 in the same directory path, I suppose that you just may have a chance to re-open the file that way. If you are lucky and one or other saved file opens, immediately follow what pjz99 said.
Otherwise, you need to play tricks to save memory, I suspect. Close anything that doesn't need to be running, before trying to open your file. Once Poser is open, minimise it and then maximise it again, before attempting to open the file. You may find that a reasonable amount of memory is freed by these gimmicks. Again, if ever you get the saved file opened this way, refer to the instructions from pjz99.
Yep, nude and bald, it's definitely that V4 we're talking about.
Regarding the folders/directory, once installed I managed them in a very personal manner...I wonder if that might be the reason why V4 screwed up (and not by the meaning we all like LOL)
First of all I made sure to put everything in the "Downloads" path in order to leave the Poser1-7 stuff aside. Then, in the Figures dir we have the DAZ people dir which contains subs I named M3, V3, V4..Each one contains folders like Models, Characters, Hair, Clothing, Poses, Morphs, Materials. I did it manually, sometimes...ehr...Renaming some folders ^_^
I know, it might seem sick and you can call me Adrian Monk (LOL) but if those add-ons won't work because of this, then I don't want Poser anymore! (LOL)
Jokes aside, yesterday I tried again by following the pjz99 suggestion and with the same figures which caused the application to crash. Everything runned smooth, and today I'll be trying to turn the "binary morph" option back on again. That's just to check whether it's a lack of memory problem or not.
Concerning the V4.1...I know you'll be laughing at me, but I'd rather go on with the actual V4 as long as it doesn't cause crashes, 'cause I'm too scared to completely mess up Poser LOL ^_^
Thanks Anyway, I'll be keeping the community updated on this issue for anyone who might experience those kind of problems :)

Thread: Transfer Morphs and Settings to another Character | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I told you estherau, I did. I tried to transfer the looks of a previously morphed V3 model to a brand new V3_80 in order to enjoy the NBS associated to it. I guess that it is a matter concerning the V3_80 model included in the NBS pack which seems to refuse morphs based on the V3? Dunno. Anyway I'll be trying to transfer the morphs to a standard V3 model...Thanks anyway...
Thread: Executable Crash | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
First of all, thanks for the answer. Well, I do not exactly remember when I downloaded the V4, but it was the base model included in the V4 pro bundle pack (and I'm actually working with "Helena").
I'll be trying by changing the Gen Pref settings as you suggested. Don't you think that reinstalling another V4 base may solve the problem? Or it is just a morph related problem?

@pjz99:
Thanks anyway for your words. there's wisdom in 'em. You said you wouldn't advice me but you did and I'll be following your suggestion (even if could use a lil help on the main differencies between V3 and V4 after all ;) )
@estherau:
I downloaded Morphmanager which is a very nice app. But then again, although I can see morphs VALUES being transferred, they doesn't affect the body part at all. Not a problem anyway, I'm thinking on switching to V4 if I cound only sort out a little problem with my saved scenes as I stated here.

Quote - I wouldn't say V3 is about to retiire, there's nothing really wrong with V3 technically and there are tons of really excellent textures, tools, morphs, clothes, etc since she's been around a long time. V4 is a good figure, and I prefer working with her, but there's no compelling reason to pick one or the other. Just be aware that things you get for one figure are basically not compatible with the other.
You touched one of my (many) weak spots. The choice between V3 and V4. I'm afraid to let this thread going OT, but now that we're talking about it, I'd like your help to make myself a few things clear.
Basically I know that (almost) anything made for one character doesn't fit with the other and viceversa.
Now. I have both V3 and V4 models but because of the variety of body morphs and stuff, I always find more enjoyable working with V3.
But it isn't painless, because IMHO the V4 nails the V3 in terms of anatomy and global smoothness.
I had a look into the marketplace and I've been fascinated by GND2 (for V3) and the Pretty Base IV (not to mention Daveigh and Dahlia) for V4.
Question is: would you choose quantity (V3) or quality(V4)? I can't decide but at the same time I ain't got billions to spend...
Thread: Transfer Morphs and Settings to another Character | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I checked Posermatic thread and it was exactly what I was looking for. Too bad I didn't bought it here...and elsewhere neither. I just downloaded the pack for free for 2 reasons...One is that I've been dealing with 3D for the last three days and for the very first time ever. That means it's early to say either I got skills or not...And to be honest I do really need a trial to see either if I like this kind of stuff or I'm good at it. That's why I'd rather waiting until my skills have this nowadays potentially wasted money turning into invested money. ;)
Second reason is, I heard V3 is about to retire and V4 is stepping up. so I'd rather wait for the V4 NBS (and of course, I hope to be ready to spend some bucks on that, which will mean I'll be relying on my 3D skills and potential)...
Anyway, thanks a lot :)

Thanks nruddock, at least you had me discovering a very nice and effective utility, and these are the good news.
Bad news are, it didn't help.
I managed to transfer all of the morphs plus all of the specific settings, but for some unexplainable reason, that doesn't affect the looks of any of the body parts.
I mean I can see that the morphs have been injected and everything, but the V3 80 model still looks like it originally is.
Also tried to tweak manually with the transferred morphs, but then again, didn't work. :(**

Thread: Problems with center of mass? Dunno :s | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, thanks for the answers guys :) I'm GLAD to know that from now on and due to its ineffectiveness, I am free to rename it as "Center of my A**" (LOL)
Jokes aside. Concerning the manual tweaking I tried myself your method and I appreciated it, Nerd. A very good one, though I still prefer to align the figure/object by using the side views (either left or right) to the horizon line. But I'll give it a try for my future works and maybe trying to get used to it, I believe it's a very effective method to pose. :)
Thanks y'all :)
