Thread: How to create a Poser video Tutorial??? | Forum: Community Center
Hi! If you have a Nvidia card then you can use "shadowplay", it will record anything you do on screen + mic.

You should ignore bad comments about your use of font, really! If it works for you then use it! ;)

Uploading them to the freestuff area is what I would do. Good luck and thank you for your contribution in advance!
I'll do that!
Thread: OT - Being Forced to Upgrade to Win 8.1 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks!
I'll installing it at home and see how it works.
I'd guess it can't be any worse than windows 8.1 and windows 8.1 I've learned to like ;)
Thread: Best Computer? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Configure it yourself.
You'd want an i7 (fastest)
Graphic: Nvidia Titan (or Radeon R9 295X2)
HD: 256 SSD (minimum, the best is two of them) and probably 2x 1TB drives in RAID 0.
Fast RAM to go with it.
1000W and probably some water-cooling for your CPU and a desent (say big) box to place everything in.

How about a simple crumbar to more easily navigate in your forum?
It would proably benefit the load on your server, I'd guess.
Thread: Sculpting or Modeling... Which Gives Better Results? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - It really depends on what your goal is: if you want to make buildings, cars and other man-made objects and you need precision, 3D-modellers is what you need. But if you want to make organic objects like rocks, people, animals and so on, sculpting is an easier way to go(nowadays). The difference is that with 3d-modellers you can keep control about the polygons you are creating and with sculpters like ZBrush you don't. As an engineer which I am, it was for me very easy to use a modeller like Rhino3D, because I got precision, but to use a sculpter like Zbrush it was something completely different (a different cookie, like we dutch say): you need to have some artistic skills and to let the urge for precision go.
That said, I like Zbrush very much and it has learned me a lot of things an skills. Today for me Rhino is for work and Zbrush is for fun/
best regards,
Bopper
I'd say this answere is the best.
If you're going for making morphs or conforming clothes to existing models in Poser, then you'll need a 3d-modeler.
As people say, use Maya, 3D-max or whatever you want.
I use Lightwave and is happy with that.
Sculpting like in ZBrush I use for fun or when doing a sketch to later work in modeling.
Thread: Poser Promo Image Labels? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I have been working in industries for a couple of enterprises, and I know they are usually very delicate when it comes to using or copying their brands. Even as an employed collaborator you cannot just copy the logo from somewhere and paste it in your WORD document, instead it is mandatory to use the official company WORD templates... Color precision to the decimal of a red or green component, precise shape of whatever symbold and fonts, and so on. They can sue you from here to Kingdom Come. I just would prefer a legal and clean solution, with an authorization from Smith Micro for use in commercial promo renders, this is why I came up with the question.
I've been working for about 25 years doing marketing for alot of "big" companies.
Yes, when you ask the person responsible of their graphic profile then you realise that you actually can't do nothing using their logotype. (that person usually change, quite often)
Ignore that person!
What I've learned is that as long as you do not show a company's logotype in a way that would disbenefit them, then everything is ok.
Often they're just glad to see their logo somewhere.
Be advised thou: This don't relate to using Apples logotype (they'll sue you) but otherwise it works with most decent companies.

Thread: OT - Being Forced to Upgrade to Win 8.1 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't say that upgrade from 8 to 8.1 is a bad thing but, of course, noone want it to be forced upon him/her.
That's just a bad policy from Microsoft.
I had an awful experience with graphic card drivers when migrating from Windows 7 to Windows 8. I had a ATI with dual chips which wouldn't work but eventually I found some drivers that matched it. (I uses a Nvidia graphic card now)
Windows 8.1 works fine for me now (feels more stable and uses RAM better than Windows 7, I think)
@MikeMoss
About Windows 10 ...
Any difficulties with drivers?
I use software like Poser, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, AF or Indesign), Lightwave, ZBrush and Maya. Do you have any experience with those in Windows 10?
Would you recommend an update to windows 10?
(Using a Asus ROG laptop with i7, GTX 780, 16GB RAM and 256 SSD+750 SATA)
Thread: Some Advice Please! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Hello and welcome,
Poser Pro 2014 is a fantastic bit of kit! When you get the materials right, you can really create some mesmerising work, especially where SSS and IDL come into play. Couple that with bullet physics and the cloth room and you've got a well-rounded product. I can't say much for the hair room, as I've had mainly terrible experiences with that, but I've seen good results from others, so perhaps it's just something that requires patience to get right.
I'd advise you to get it. I have only rendered with Firefly so far and haven't tried any of the other software you've listed, but it's definitely a yes from me with regards to PP 2014!
Oh, and remember where the best place to come is for Poser help! ;)
Glen.
Oh, my god!
Glen, your on top of my list when I need a new marketing manager... ;)

Hi Tsuzura!
All I can tell you is that Poser Pro would be a good choice but you could/should use/learn to use a some other 3D-modelling software too. (modelling in Poser is a no)
There's alot of them out there, free or paid for. Just make sure that they read and write to the wavefront obj-format.
Thread: Meet Video Vixens Chessie 1.0 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just think those breasts, limbs, things or whatever you like to call them should be done right in 3D.
What I see now is some carelessly work done by someone who really don't care about the symmetry and how it looks.
Thumbs down, from me.
Would you bother to learn how to move those polygonpoints without a dial?
