You guys/gals should look into Houdini HD, it's only $99.
Building 3D scenes procedurally is the most productive way to work.
I understand that a pro license it expensive, but think about all the money you've spent so far.
Max and Maya are good, but still missing the intuitive nature that comes with building with nodes.
If your working full time in 3D, you should take a serious look at it.

Thread: New Poser Pro... Run with Vue 6? | Forum: Vue
Do you still need Ppro to pose?
I've played with Poser but coming from Houdini, don't really like it at all.
Now that Houdini has character rigs, it's much more powerful.
But Vue won't import my character animation just yet.
Although Houdini does have FBX Importer and Collada, just not sure about exporting to Vue
Thanks,
~S

What do you mean "use it to set up a scene"?
All you need Ppro for is the models and clothes in my mind.
Can't you pose the models inside of Vue? or do you really need Ppro for that?
Thanks,
~Shawn

Always try to buy the latest Nvidia card. You can't go wrong with these cards.
If your pushing large amount of polygons, then lean toward their Quadro cards, otherwise the GeForce are the best bang for your buck.

Cool link...!
Please post your results after learning more about fire.
I was going to recommend you use Particle Ilusions in post, but I'm sure it always looks better when you can keep it in the original scene. Good luck!

Get a GS, the GT is probably not worth the extra bucks! good luck.
Oh yeah, make sure you get atleast a 7600 or higher number.

Oh man, I'd return the PC.
or buy a graphics card for it, hopefully it's not a notebook

You should share this with E-on. I'd really like to hear what they have to say.
Also, can you show us a Poser render with no post-work done?
Thanks,

rgb should still have the alpha channel (need to save with millions of colors set to ON in other programs)
remember being able to deselect world/background when exporting in P6

Your right, I was at SIGGRAPH watching Z-brush make these models and save them out to displacement maps.
I spoke with someone who made "Cars" and it took 16 hours to render one frame. It's not the texture maps, it's the lighting that forces huge renders.
It also depends how close or how large the object is on the screen. Close shots will use those large poly count models.

Are these data morphing channels present in P6 and not shaded?
Does DAZ Dial Cleaner work with P6?

You can find a tutorial from one of the vector artists here:

I only see this painstaking procedure good for blowing up pictures.
I'm sure the Entertainment Mags would like this feature so they can put someone's face of a photo taken far away, blown up perfectly on the front page. (Jolie cheating on Brad!)
This really has nothing to do with 3D.

Thread: Creating object disturbance in water? | Forum: Vue
Question from newbie:
When you bring in your water object from Carrara, are you bringing in the human model? Aren't you using him/her to displace the water or are you using another model of some sort?
Also, are you rendering a series of .obj or .3ds (hence a series of ripples example: ripple001.obj, ripple002.obj, etc...)? How do you bring a series of object into vue like that?

You can't bring all your Vue work into Poser?
Why can't you tell Vue objects to use the Poser rendering nodes also?
