I do appologize if I've offened anyone. I certainly did not mean to be "tacky" as stated. I too have family in a hurricane ravaged area and perhaps I let that get the best of me. I have the highest respect for this community and all the extremely talented artist that participate within. Hopefully everyone will see the changes they'd like to see take place in this community everyone will be happy once more.

You know folks, a lot of people just lost everything they had and also "died" in two hurricanes and there's a third on the way. Don't you think everyone should really take a look at the larger picture in life and not get so upset over some lost images and a contest??

To Spit: The Shoe Pack straps nor Sharkey's boots appear after rendering. I'm not too sure what you mean about having "normals reversed". That's something I haven't seen yet. Unfortunately I'm still fairly new to all of this. But up to this point this is about the only problem I've come across that I can't figure out. To MachineClaw: I haven't tried just the shoes, straps and boots without a figure. I'll give that a try and get back to you. So far the only thing showing up are the shoes themselves for the Shoe Pack. Thanks to both of you, Dennis

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm using Poser 5. As for the read me files, I've printed out and followed them to the letter for both products and still I get the same results. The straps in the shoe pack and the shoes in Sharkey's just won't physically appear. Dennis

Up to this point ME has worked fine for me. I think a lot of my problem is just me getting frustrated. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade to XP one day though. Any thoughts?? You folks are too kind. It's nice to know there's a place I can go and not feel like too much of an idiot. In all honesty I'm not only new to the Poser world but I'm new to actually talking in forums and such. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first staring asking questions but I'm happy to say that everyone that's replied to me has been very kind, informative and most of all patient. I'm sure I'll have many, many more questions the farther along I get (which really isn't too far at this point, believe me!) and now I know I'll get fantastic responces and help. When I see some of the awesome artwork out there I can only hope I get to be half as good some day. Thank you all again! One more quick question and I'll leave you all alone for the night. I think I bothered you for no good reason. I uninstalled, reinstalled and tried the updates again and I was still getting errors. I finally got frustrated and decided it was time to go to the manual. Well come to find out this particular version that I bought doesn't need those two updates. According to the manual the next update I might need will be update 3. I sure wish Curious Labs had spelled that out a little better on their website. I guess when all else fails read the instructions. Sorry for bothering you with my stupidity. But I do want to thank you again for for your help, responce and info about Poser 4 into Poser 5. Now maybe I can get on with it here and see just how much I really have to learn. By the way I'm working in Windows ME. Thanks again!

Thank you so much!! You've told me more in a few minutes than I read in the manual in a day. There certainly is a lot of great items out there to buy. And your absolutely right when you say I won't need to buy anything for a while. It's going to take me quite some time just to figure out how everything that I have now works. I sure wish someone would write a "Poser For Dummies" book. Something tells me once I get the hang of Poser my wallet is going to take a real beating. Thank you for your quick responce. I'm going to start all over and follow your instructions and see what that does for me. I still can't figure out why the uninstaller isn't showing up but I think I can get by that. As for my system: Athlon 1gh processor, 512 mb DDR ram (soon to be 1024mb DDR thanks to Newegg.com prices on Crucial memory). I am really curious to see what DAZ comes up with. I'd hate to throw good money away but I'm all for ease of installation and use. If I may ask one more question, do you know if Poser 4 items will work in Poser 4? There's so much great stuff out there to buy I want to make sure I buy the correct things (if and when I get good enough that is). Thanks once again!

Thank you for the tip. That seems to have worked. I'm brand new to Poser (just loaded it this week) so I'm sure I'm going to have all kinds of stupid questions. If I can get half as good as all of you talented artists I'll be really happy.
