And now that voting is closed, I'd like to say congratulations to mamabobbijo for being Renderosity's Artist Of the Month for October!
I'm glad that not only was the AOM a member of the writer's gallery but also a member of the writer's forum community! :)

Thread: Yikes! | Forum: Writers
Hey Jstro,
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's just a time limit on the board.
All the threads are still out there in the archive of course. The slowdown in activity has just caused the number of active threads to dwindle a bit. Hopefully, activity will pick up as you said once the summer months pass!

Thread: August Writing Challenge - Forgetting | Forum: Writers
Nope, I don't think it needs to be new if you have something that already fits the theme.
Great poem, mamabobbijo. =)

Thread: July Writing Challenge - Independence | Forum: Writers
So, the July challenge didn't appeal to anyone! Or everyone was outside enjoying July! :)
I'll pretend like it's the later!
Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Thread: Not that it matters...dialyn going awol for awhile | Forum: Writers
Jstro is correct from what I've been able to dig up. Apparently, the only way I've found to modify the way the forum looks is modifying the css code under My Forums Options.
I know a bit about css, so I can probably help you out with this. Namely, this would allow you to change the colors of the site and the text on the site which would probably make it a little less problematic. Just let me know what colors you'd like to see, and I'll send you some test code to try.

Dialyn,
It matters to quite a few I imagine!
I'll look into seeing if there is a way to change the defaults for the appearance of the site now that we've shifted to the new look and I'll let you know as soon as I do!

Thread: Is It A Bad Idea To Submit An Electronic Copy Of Your Manuscript | Forum: Writers
Something you should be aware of is that, even without paying the fee to "officially" copyright your work, the work is automatically copyrighted to you as soon as you write it. While it's nice to do it officially so if anything happens, it's easier to prove that you had the original version of the work, you do own it regardless.

That's a really cute story! Something you said there actually reminds me of something my dad used to tell me (a little ahead of schedule since it's not quite father's day) when I was a kid. When I, ever inquisitive, asked him why the grass was green, he responded quite matter-of-factly that it was the elves that came out at night with green paint and little paint brushes that painted each blade of grass green. I bought into it too, which put my dad in the awkward position of having to explain to my teacher why I insisted in class that she was wrong and it was elves that made the grass green!
Thread: The Next Big Writer - community for peer review and feedback | Forum: Writers
So tempting. I wish I had the motivation I used to in order to get some writing done. I've had such a difficult time over the last year managing to actually get myself to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard for the purpose of actually churning out some fiction. Maybe joining up will be just the thing to stoke the inner creative fires.

A linguistics professor was lecturing to his English class one day. "In English," he said, "a double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."
A voice from the back of the room piped up, "Yeah, right."
Thread: April Writing Challenge - April Fools | Forum: Writers
Wow! Just.. wow! Yeah.. that's quite an April Fool's joke!! I can see why he told you after you were way, far away!
I think that one beats just about any April Fool's prank I've ever heard.
Wow!
