wow... this forum fills up fast.... for who3d, i also have had lots of success with cloth hair, but am also working on using the cloth simulator to simulate soft skin. it can be done!!! i think, from the general opinions, that id be better off trying to earn some pocket money by selling some of my vehicles and buildings, although the buildings are all japanese textured. after retexturing maybe..... soon, i might release some free dynamic clothes, and the world will see that my dynamic clothes are better than the standard meshes, and then people will bow to me and i shall rule this planets people with an iron fist...... perhaps ive said too much. dynamic clothing rocks!!! and poser 5 is great. it compares with maya if you are a genius and can figure stuff out....... having people like all of you around makes it all warm and cozy feeling to learn in too....... thanks people.

first turn on the figure s collision detection in the properties tab,(from the hip) then click apply collision settings to children. then select the right hand(sorry, before you select it enable ik for the right or left hand, whatever you select) now turn on collision detection for the document window, and use the parameter dials to move the hand in towards the body(use xtrans dial, and side to side dial cause youll break her wrist...)and youll see that the hand still passes throgh the body. now move it away again and select the translate/pull tool in editing tools bar, and if you use that it will collide with the body and not move through. but i find using the dials easier so it doesnt do me a lot of good. i dont find collision detection to be all that useful, but i only do limited things in poser to use it like you said, make sure all the collision detection things are on, and use the editing tools to make your pose, not the dials

if you read the manual well youll see that you need to enable collision detection for every object you want it to effect.(do this in the properties tab) secondly, you wont see any reaction if the objects are keyed to intersect eachother. itll only work if they inadvertently collide, as the resuly of gravity, another expression(python script i think its called). i messed around with it for a while and figured it out, but then never used it in anything, so i kinda forgot. but its more complicated than it needs to be, i think..... ganbatte!!!
