Yeah, its pretty normal to render for so long...the big commercial renderings take big UNIX servers with several hundered processors all night to render a view of a single scene in animated movies like final fantasy and shrek.
Thread: Help needed | Forum: Bryce
hey, it looks nice, especially for a first pict. the only thing i would do is to make a better texture map for the raptors, maybe some scales? i like to go into the procedural texture editor in bryce and then click on the "combination" window. this will rip the texture to the screen, there you can press alt+Prinscrn this will copy it to the clipboard. save it in a program like photoshop and crop the parts you want. then just go find your texture map for it (probably in poser/runtime/textures) and paste it down over the colored parts of the picture. make sure to save a backup though if you mess up. after your finished, recolor it and render it. you can even use different color schemes for different raptors (i.e. different spots). sorry for the long reply, email me at mmattb@yahoo.com if you need anymore help.

Thread: How do I twist and bend things? | Forum: Bryce
try buying metacreation's old product infini-d, its a little pricy, but i got it before bryce, and i dont see how anyone manages without it. it has an object editor to model in, and its pretty powerful, lots deformers like bending and twisting too.
Thread: Alien World - 99% final and a rendering question. | Forum: Bryce
no, dont remove objects, i would find a way to get around it, or be patient, dont screw with something that looks THAT good. check out the discussion on longest render times, some guy had like 1100 hours.

Thread: Exporting problems | Forum: Bryce
i dont know why any of the figure are screwed up first, try exporting one figure at a time, and click universe and ground off. make sure you are exporting them as wavefront objects (best for this). so when you get to the hiearchal window, click the universe checkbox off, and then figure1 and all its parts, and export, and then repeat the process ofr all firgures... i dont know if doing them seperatly will help any, but sometimes that type of thing will help, i do it that way and have had no trouble...good luck! :)

more time always means more quality, so theres probably a reason why its so much faster...
