Hi Lin
Actually you are right. There is more abuse that goes on in families. The reason one never hears about it is because these cases are done in secrecy.
However, the same problem exists there to.
I live I Denver and there have been two cases of parents who had naked pictures of their children. One was a very cutsy picture of a child in a tux without pants and underwear. The other was a picture of a child in a bath tub.
Social services removed the children because of the pictures. There was no evidence of sexual abuse. We know this only because of the publicised trial. They were found not guilty by a jury.
So here is the interesting rub. Not guilty does not mean innocent only that not enough evidence was present to get a conviction.
The parents involved did not get their children back for over a year after being found not guilty. One has to ask how many children are removed from their home for similar pictures and are not prosecuted because the DA knows they can't win. Instead we just remove the children. Talk to an adult sometime who was removed from their home as a child. They have horror stories that can't be heard without getting sick. That comes from those who were abused at home and those who swear they weren't abused.
From many of the things said in this forum, there are lots of parents ripe for the picking.

TT I did the resets and still get the same problem. lsstrout probably has the right solution. Problem is that on a PC, this is a windows file rather than a convienient setting. Poser and Bryce seem to be using the same file. Amorphium, PS 6.0, RDS 5.5 GMAX doesn't have a problem with the memory. I seem to remember making a change in a file way back when to solve this problem Problem is I don't have my notes. Thanks

The meg size showed as 48 megs when I got the information box. I was a little surprised too since the majority of the mesh is straight forward ie cubes, cylinders, etc. However, the high polygons occur in a cube that I turned into a pyramid with an indent at the top. I used 4 of these and grouped the four of them. The count shot up significantly. I'm still very much learning to make meshes so I obviously did something wrong. Fred

Definately processor speed. I have 600+ mega and an AMD 450K-2. The extra memory hasn't helped that much even in building a complex scene.

I just bought the Epson 1280. It gives me just about what I want and the inks according to Epson have a 26 year span. We use to have this prblem in photography. It might be possible to spray a UV coating and extend the life. However, if you need archival properties, them the Epson 2000p is the only way to go. The inks are 100 year and with the archival paper make for nice fine art work. However, if you are hooked on the vibrant colors you get from ink jet, then it is somewhat disapointing as they are more closely related to real photographic colors. Its also pricy at $799 although some of the photo mags have had it listed at $729.
