Maybe we need another site speed poll? I use my brother's p.c. and the site has been really slow for me as well the past few days. I also tried to update my home page area and my featured image areas today. In both instances, after I had selected the image for each area, my p.c. locked up and I had to completely restart it all over. In this forum area I also had a great deal of trouble. It kept saying it was reading and waiting for a long time and then finally brought up the threads. But when I tried to reply in the message box it would not allow me to do it. I finally clicked the source box above and it allowed me to finally type text to post. I believe my brother is using Netscape browser version 8.1.1 which he told me is the latest available and he recently spent alot of money upgrading to a satellite dish 1MB broadband connection. All the other similar art sites I visit seem to work well.

btw: my brother once told me he deleted a post he had made in the writer's forum and then received an IM from a moderator there saying that they could still read what he had originally posted.

I use a family member's computer to get online when I can. This family member was on dial up service and then upgraded to broadband at considerable expense. The fixer's comments about people always whining are due to things like the site poll shown above. It has been that way since I have been a member and much longer for others here longer than me. Once it is corrected it should reduce a large number of whining.
I also notice that many, long time artists have either left or are considering leaving. This bothers me a great deal since these are the backbone of renderosity and give alot of help to myself and others here. When this many long time artists jump ship something is not right.
I keep hearing that the membership still grows. That may be true. But you are losing your standard bearers and replacing them with new people, most who are not nearly as skilled or helpful until they get some experience.
I know my brother also asked once if the speed on renderosity would be faster when this changeover was finished and he was told, "I hope so". That is not a response I would expect to hear from a customer service person in any business or form.
Just my thoughts,

Well, I guess you're either one lucky person or you have some equipment I or the rest of us above don't have? I am happy for you. Thanks for the reply. I think.

I use my brother's computer. He recently went to 1MB internet high speed from dial up. I sit here and wait and wait and wait. It always says, "Waiting for www.renderosity.com". After anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds it finally moves. When it moves, it runs fast. When it moves. This is the only site in many that I visit that I have any troubles with. It has nothing to do with my computer if all other sites work fine. How can you even suggest that when all my other sites are doing very well? My brother has told me the same things repeatedly and he has been here before me for some time.I have not been here long and only visit on weekends, generally. But, when I do come to this site, it is the same thing. Wait, wait, wait. And, more wait. Then it moves and moves fast. When it finally does move. What is different about this particular site on my computer that would cause all these long delays that I never experience on all the other sites, forums, and chat boards I use? It seems like to me that you dismiss all above who bring up this concern like it is their problem and not yours? By the way, I experience this waiting period in any area of your site I attempt to go to. I also have the same problems with your site when I am using my sister's laptop computer at home or my computer at my place of employment. It seems peculiar to me that all three computers at three different locations regularly experience the exact same issues?Like I said before, once your site finally does move, it moves rapidly.
