I think it was too dark in 4.04 mac too - not 100% sure. Even the light green is pretty dark.

Having used both versions, the interfaces are pretty much identical. And yah I know about that color thing - and it defaults to green for plants anyway. It's not that the trees are actually black - just very dark green. Fiddling around with the color thing does change the objects color in shaded, but they are always pretty dark. Turning off light from scene, shadows, etc. doesn't solve this. I don't know if this is an issue on the PC side - a minor one at any rate (I think I know what a tree looks like:). - n8

Thanks Steve. I tried without the background draw thread on Mac and it works great. Also tested hiding the app. And my tree trunks or back, so it's all good. Full screen rendering is a bit better, but still a bit weird if you cancel it (and even if you don't). Because all the menus are disabled and without the save/close thingies it isn't obvious how to get back to the 3d view (pressing Escape several times does the trick). The other weird thing, in Shaded view everything looks B&W - trees aren't green like in Wireframe. - n8

Sorry WingedOne - I never knew "for sure" until now. It's one of the questions I posed to Lynn in an earlier thread, but it never got answered. 60MB - you would need to use FTP or something else (ICQ maybe). not really a big deal if you and the other party both have high speed internet. I'd do it for you on my brother's PC, but I don't have Poser 4. - n8

Another problem in beta1 for OS X - sometimes the file save menu isn't letting me type! (a filename) Cmd-S to save and cursor sits there blinking, but takes no input. Seems to straighten out eventually though.

There's a PC in the house too - but it's my brother's so I have to wait until he's not gaming. Tomorrow morning perhaps. What exactly do you want done that would require a Windows box too? - n8

Still could be clearer. And the OS X related press releases all mentioned Poser imports, so one would be made to believe that it works. Being a geeky type of person, I figured it wouldn't work before I had ordered (talking to a Classic app), but since I don't own Poser 4 it didn't bother me too much :). What we really need is Poser for OS X, and a nice Vue plugin like CL has done for many other applications. Including animation support. Meanwhile, maybe a PC user can do an import for you and send a VOB. Or assuming you have Vue and Poser on hybrid CDs, maybe you can access a PC somewhere to get it imported. I wouldn't wait around for Curious Labs though :( - n8

Actually it says on the e-on web site, but it didn't say this when I orginally ordered: *Requires Curious Labs Poser4. Coming soon for OS X. Sounds like you're implying Poser 4/5 for OS X is coming soon? (You don't have to answer that because you probably shouldn't:). Personally, I'm waiting for P5 OS X before I upgrade from Poser 3. -n8

Curios Labs said there will be no OS X version until the next major release (Poser 5), so I wouldn't hold your breath. I do agree though - this should be plainly stated on the web site - and afaik it is not. - n8

Steve, I could - but it is all files - including the samples that came on the 4.04 CD. This is under OS X of course. Btw, sounds like you need more computers :-) - n8

Turn down the quality for the background draw thread and the foreground thread. That seems to help get rid of the wait cursor. Though I think the wait cursor is "back again" in the 4.05 beta - in the material editors and such. I have an iBook G3 500 with 640MB. - n8

Thanks for the tip Audity. Unfortunately when I loaded the Vue up again, my scene went back to having no branches. Is beta2 coming real soon now? - n8
