Was it just a grid you wanted or the twisted rope like structure of each strand? If its a grid just set up a grid and use the single line marquee tools to draw a line, expand the line with expand selection to your desired width. Copy lay for all the other lines, rotate all of them for the vertical lines and then use warp tool to create waves in the net, or liquefy to create smaller kinks.Thread: How are those fancy actions REALLY created?? | Forum: Photoshop
For a free example of a fairly complex action try my retouching eye action to make most of an eye in photoshop. You can then go through the steps of it in yor history pallet and see how it was done and get a feel for what you can do.
I hope this helps.

Hi thereYes motion blur works just fine except that if you require a curve in the stream it will blur it and ruin the effect, so blur the straight stream out the back of the wing and beyond with strong motion blur, you can even control the angle of the blur, and use a low opacity brush to do the scetion by the wing tip
I hope this helps

No problem. Use the crop tool or the rectangle selection tool but at the top of the screen select from the options drop down "style" and then Fixed Ratio. Change the width and height to 10 and 8!!Neil

HiYou could try extending the lightning down to the globe and then use a very subtle outer glow to the globe. In layers pallete you can select layer properties / styles, one of which is outerglow. Try experimenting with that effects. Also you could try inner glow and change the opacity of the glow on the globe and see what you get there too.

Hi thereIf its a book you need then i find the Martin Evening Adobe PhotoShop for Photographers, always a good read and its what i call real photoshop stuff. (This is of course only my opinion) Not creating funny glass globes and stuff but hard core photoshop image improvments.
I hope this helps
Oh I also heard that http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Restoration-Start-Finish-photographs/dp/0240808142/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-7522386-2439006?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181680307&sr=1-1 this was good.

Many thanks you just hit the nail on the head, some works are in my opinion ruined by not adding the focal length , now i can offer more constructive criticism.
