Unless it has been fixed in an update, the Anisotropic Node was broken when Poser 12 was released, while some other nodes were missing, along with other buggy issues.
So, do you wanna pay hundreds of dollars for faulty software? If your answer is "Yes!" then upgrading to Poser 12 may be an option.

So basically they changed the "Roughness" parameter in a way that affects all nodes in every shader, forgot to tell anyone, and then left us to find it out on our own.
See, things like this is why I'm not supporting Poser 12.

Often, the old specular map is a good starting point to make the roughness map. An easy way to do it is by inverting the image it in your preferred graphic editor, and then reducing the contrast until the higher and lower values match your desired threshold. Old specular maps usually have extreme 100% whites and blacks which are unrealistic for PBR
In my experience, it's advisable to save the new map as grayscale in sGray profile, and set its gamma correction to 1 inside Poser, so the value you see in the map is the value you get in the render

In the past, Bagginsbill would find odd behaving nodes years after the implementation of the software, but we're talking about an individual with extensive training in computers and programming.
Now that you mention Bagginsbill, is he still around? I wonder if he has quit Poser too, I wouldn't blame him giving up with this mess. All the shaders I use are based on BB's model for PBR.

Being dealt with is referring to the spambot spewing all over the forum and it being traced and eliminated, not what you said. And just how do you expect the devs to deal with a bug? In a future update. As the poster who said ' hopefully in the next update' was not a dev, they could hardly have given you the exact date of the fix. it was reported, it was put on the list.
Okay, yet the nodes are still broken and terefore, shaders that worked in v11 stil don't work in v12 If the nodes are fixed, buying a license may be worth consideration then. If.
Demanding users to pay hundreds of dollars for a license to run a bug that may never be fixed? That is quite a bold business decision.

"It may be fixed in a future update" "being dealt with"
That's okay. I may buy your software in the future, then. Meanwhile I'll stick with Poser 11.
Thread: Specular question | Forum: Poser 12
In real life, all surfaces reflect light and the difference is how sharply or diffusely they do. Therefore, replacing "specular maps" with "roughness maps" will produce more accurate results in PBR render engines.
The PBR shader BB produced for Superfly discarded specular maps altogether, but Smith Micro nuked their Poser forum so the thread explaining the theory behind it is now lost.
